@@gerrymcivor374 I didn't want run the engine without putting the auxiliary belt on correctly. I drove the van 12 miles yesterday with the ticking noise and it got much louder when i got home. Hence not running it today

I had a Octavia that the glow plug light used to come on , and it turned out dodgy tail light , that affected starting

@@Brian0059 lol yes it can be literally anything. Sadly people don't read their car manuals so go straight out and buy the glow plugs lol

@@eadsierestorations yes when a diesel starts that should be it , most odd that one you got , drove diesels since Orion’s and with other cabs , not heard that one before, don’t suppose there’s air getting in some where ? May be drain plug on filter

@@cainbeeping8480 thanks brother, I had routed the auxiliary belt the wrong way. Once I had realised what i had done by checking it again i put it right and the horrible ticking stopped.
