I ❤️ the fact that these trucks are getting the recognition they deserve. My 68 I had at 18 was 352 three speed . It kicked ass , I raced a vette and won it challenged a 455 TA he didn’t want to race . It would smoke the tires from first through third. And when I just crawled through the gears it would bark and at 15-20 mph just let the clutch and barely gave it gas it bark . Yeah she wasn’t a looker but she screamed . Oh at 32,000 miles it still had over 200lbs of compression on each cylinder, consistent. 228 to be exact. It was my first motor I built at 17 years old . It wasn’t stock but sounded stock. Oh the intake was off a 69 390 mustang the carb was a 625 carter economizer . 18 highway sometimes better . Our octane was higher and we had access to aviation fuel 😁

have owned a few bump sides. out of all the cars I have owned, Bump sides are always my favorite. They are nearly indestructible, look great stock, lifted or slammed, look great as a work truck, rusted out, nice patina or painted and quite easy to work on. Its what I started with in High School Autobody and Mechanics.

I’ll tell you what’s crazy, I clicked on this video because I have almost this exact (unrestored) truck. It’s blue and white two-tone, bought out of North Carolina, but is a 300/3 speed truck. I had even thought about doing the exact color combo this guy did because my uncle has a Ford Lightning that color and it’s beautiful.

When did they start calling them bunp side they used to be fleet sides. I have a 71 it don't look that good are run that good.
@updownup Жыл бұрын
The 1967-72 are referred to as bumpsides because the body bumps out under that trim line where the paint two tones. The 73-79 are called dent sides because the body under the trim in the same area is concave or "dented". It's still a fleetside box though.
@TheLawyerMechanic3 жыл бұрын
Ford Racing's 460 is a small block technically. They start with a 351 Windsor and build it up from there. Definitely a beast of an engine but Ford still calls it a small block.
@ronniejohnson3173 жыл бұрын
Sorry dude , but that is a 385 series 460. Ford didn’t do block sizes.
