For 10 or more years I was doing the top spin bad. I was also several years with coaches and nobody tell me what I was doing bad. I performed this steoke always too horizontal and I applied a lot of spin, but always the strke were slow...No I realize that I have to make the stroke with the raket more flat and finish the gesture in the eyes level. When the ball is sink into the rubber and catapulted forward I'll have speed and spin. Before I tried I known that will run, I can visualizate it !!! Congrats for the video 👏👏👏

please tell about the bat angle in forehand topspin especially when playing it against side spin balls coming at different pace. I usually have my bat angle bent down resulting in ending up ball going into the net for the most of the time or when i keep it flat ball simply pops out of the table :( i am confused between the bat angle and the speed at which i should play the shot.

I very much appreciate these videos. I recently bought a new blade and rubbers. It's my first custom racket. Which is all geared towards faster game play. I'm not having trouble generating speed or spin. But i am having trouble varying the topspin. I find it harder now to hit the ball slowly. I'm not sure if i need to have the rubbers wear down a bit. What would be your suggestion. I'm using Palio Ak-47 Red and Blue.
@pingskills7 жыл бұрын
You don't want the rubbers to wear down. The secret to varying your spin is to brush the ball more or less. Give this a try and your next training session and let me know if it helps. Good luck!

You can try and open the bat angle a bit more so you have more chance to hit the ball. You can also watch the ball really closely and that can help too.
@pranavmayuresh10679 жыл бұрын
I have tired that many times playing fast. But whenever I try playing with topsin , the ball always goes out of the table. Do you have a different technique for fast topspin?
@milosmiljkovic59759 жыл бұрын
+CHELSEA PRANAV first of all, do you have a decent racket that can generate spin well?
@pingskills9 жыл бұрын
+CHELSEA PRANAV As Milos mentioned you need a decent rubbers on your bat so you can generate topspin. Then start with the forehand counterhit and work your way up to the forehand topspin which you can think of as an extension of the counterhit. There's not a different technique as such for faster topspins. As we mention in the video you need to get the racket moving faster and generate the topspin.
@milosmiljkovic59759 жыл бұрын
PingSkills When should I use counterhit and when should i use forehand topspin in a match? What kind of balls should I return with forehand top spin and what kind of with forehand counterhit?
@pingskills9 жыл бұрын
+Milos Miljkovic Great question. The counterhit isn't used a lot in matches especially as you progress. The forehand counterhit is important though as it is the basis for the forehand topspin. If you want to attack the ball you should use the forehand topspin. If your opponent is attacking you with topspin then we use the forehand block which again is like a mini forehand counterhit. As you can see these shots are all related and I think it's easier if you think of them all as extensions of each other. That way you can just play the forehand that seems best for you in that situation. Does that help or did I confuse you with that explanation?
@milosmiljkovic59759 жыл бұрын
So from that I could imagine myself using a forehand counterhit only for balls that the opponent attacked but aren't really fast. Although I can do both shots somewhat well, you suggest me to start working on counterhit first, and once I start hitting the ball on table consistently, I should slowly start working on my forehand topspin. That was how I understood it and concluded even further.

sir I am trying hard to get a rally of forehand topspin but after 2-3 balls my topspin gets converted into sidespin , please help me !
@pingskills7 жыл бұрын
If you are getting sidespin then you must be hitting the ball on the side. This usually happens if you drop or raise your wrist. It's not neccessarily a bad thing. But if you want pure topspin then make sure you aren't angling your bat to the side when you make contact.
@mohitagarwal76137 жыл бұрын
I didn't got what you said...in which side I have to keep my wrist ?
@pingskills7 жыл бұрын
Keep it in a fairly neutral position. If you have it down or up you'll tend to get more sidespin. Watch this video to see how you get sidespin, and then you might see how to keep it for a normal topspin - www.pingskills.com/tutorials/advanced-strokes/sidespin-forehand-topspin

but are we not limited by how our opponent plays the ball to us first? e.g if they do a back hand chop, we can only with the "brushing" (more vertical) forehand to counter the spin
@pingskills8 жыл бұрын
You certainly do need to take into consideration what spin your opponent has put on the ball. If the chop you do need to lift the ball more than if there was topspin on the ball.

My opponent gave me hard time today. He is a lawn tennis player, you could imagine his action, so he was putting topspin with closed racket between back top of the ball and boy the ball was NOT following the topspin arc and still was fast. I could only react. 😢

@@pingskills i mean wanted to know if my analysis is right that because of lawn tennis action, ball trajectory can be flat and not curve/dip. Yet after bounce on my side it accelerated. And how to counter it.
@pingskills9 ай бұрын
@@mayankgupta2543 Oh I see. I'm not really sure but if the ball is coming through with less topspin and hence less curve and dip then you need to adjust slightly. Perhaps you can treat it as a counterhit or add more topspin back to your next stroke. This will give you more margin for error and make it harder for your opponent on the next stroke.
