The late Christopher Hitchens also made an extremely persuasive case for the invasion of Iraq. Farther from a NecCon you can not get. We forget just how deeply demented the evil of Saddam was and the sheer length of time it was on full display. He did not expect joy and happiness to follow Saddam's overthrow. But he too did not expect what followed.

I do not want to upset anyone and certainly not offend, because I have begun to believe that in the period we all live, it has become a perilous task to do so even to democracies, if and when anyone is a tiny island called Milo. Nevertheless I want to focus on the word so often used (hindsight) and ask a few questions. Considering (hindsight) the word, and the concept of affairs in a foreign structure, what is often being stated (by many) is the possible fact that in a major English speaking country, in relation to affairs as a foreign structure, with and within hindsight, (when is needed) there aren't many that know T.E. Laurence, the borders of the middle east, and a simple linear series of historical records and events, which when including T.E. Laurence, similar actors in such records and events, together with the final borders, would indicate a simple...(how it all came about) story line, which then could be used for discussion....!?!? If that is the case, then it would make perfect sense when thinking/looking back in hindsight...! That the best decision (also) was always to fully back a staunch civil servant such as Boris, and not do so with a not at all civil servant such as Gorbachev!?!?! A strategy that I believe was supported widely in similar terms throughout the eastern block of the cold war. A strategy that is still a major hindrance in helping state development with the European part of the western block from the cold war. Regime change, usually and in the best way knocks on doors and if those doors are not open, then the take over part goes through doors as many as it can. Making the support part very ambiguous even though hindsight and affairs in a foreign structure.
