I'm in a wheelchair and i find it super hard to talk to people because idk if they would like me or not and i'm an introvert so i tend to shy away and stay to myself and i get really bad anxiety attacks in crowded areas just like the place he was in. But this video made me feel a little bit better because i thought i was the broken one who can't socialize correctly because i'm terrified to. He seems so happy to speak to others (something i just can't do) i can't even carry on a conversation without the having it die at the last word which is "oh okay" or "yeah' this wassomewhat was very motivational for me. I feel like trying harder to make friends but :( its so hard, and i knows its gonna get tougher when i leave college and start working. thank you for this video because it honestly made me really happy to see such interactions^^
@Jourdie226 жыл бұрын
I can empathize with how daunting it must be to put yourself out there and socialize but please don't be afraid. your disability makes you extremely special and the people who don't embrace you / ignore you aren't worth knowing anyways. I'm glad this video got to touch your life this is part of the reason why i decided to work in the fashion industry so that i could break negative perceptions of disabilities. One day people will be coming up to talk to you without any hesitation just show your bright self :)
@christi16676 жыл бұрын
jourdie thank you so much for your reply. Omg. Yes I just need to show the bright part of me then I will start to see changes in my life. Thank you for your encouraging words this also means a lot. Please keep doing what your doing you set such a great example, I'm glad to say I got to know such a wonderful person that embrace who they are without feeling like an outcast or embarrassed of themselves (I feel like this everyday) I too will also try and also break the negative perceptions others have on disabilities. And yes people who ignore me aren't worth my time. Thank you again 😊
@Xena90026 жыл бұрын
It’s hard for me to socialise too but everyday if you take small steps to interact it just deepens your relationship with people and I hope you keep on pushing your comfort box because that’s when you truly begin to experience wonderful friendship :D

I cried through out the whole video and I’m so happy that those people were actually willing to help Jourdie and didn’t ignore him etc... I’ve also a disability which makes me have to sit on wheelchair. When I was in Korea last year I got really nervous because of what people would react when they see someone in wheelchair, especially a non korean person. Thank you so much Jay for making my day!
@Jourdie226 жыл бұрын
People no matter where they are from can be either ignorant or embracing, I found that during Seoul fashion week a lot of people where willing to help and please keep in mind that if you ever feel ignored in Korea or people don't seem like they don't want to help it could be because of a language barrier. Generally, people are very helpful and kind but also respectful. I had to ask people to take my picture because I could see they wanted to but were too shy to do so,. I think in Korea people generally don't want to offend another person but to some, it may come off as being rude. I'm glad you liked the video. Please feel free to find me on instagram and if ever you come to seoul please let me know @east.and.west

I did not know that our country was so kind. I have just seen a Japanese comment on a comment on the comfort women video. I was very angry, but after seeing this video, I feel a little relaxed. I am very grateful to many foreigners for not forgetting our people and warmly thinking about them. There are many videos to test these Koreans, and most say they are kind. I am very proud of my country and people and I want you to remember my comfort women 's grandmothers. I am sorry to say that I have nothing to do with it.

I can believe I only saw this video now. I feel like rather than people focusing on his disability they were focusing more on how nice and friendly of a person he is. I think it was especially nice of him to ask to photographer to take a photo of him because he sensed that he was hesitant to do it. I think he'll have a lot of success in breaking the stereotypes towards people who have disability simply based on how amazing of a person he is.
