Soo it's true! ! Enjoy your travels. I've heard that in Vietnam "people dress very cute" (girls especially), etc so please Meet the beautiful people. but I don't know why u would leave Philippines, there are no people like them in the world...except maybe Vietnam ! !

I was chatting to a young German guy, 21, here in Vietnam. Has already tuned into the joys of working remotely abroad. He says there's talk of only being able to take two flights a year. FFS.

@@BiggWorldCinema So, does that mean that "Visa runs" would have to be done by ground transport? I've not heard anything like that, but I'd be interested in the source of that policy. Do you think you'll go back to the Philippines, or travel to other countries instead?

My biggest pet peeve flying from Clarke, Manila or Cebu was the need to remove my watch each time when I was never asked to do so in Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, or Korea airports. And yeah, I can agree once inside Mactan airport there aren't as many food choices as there is on the outside. But still, I will be back again in Cebu hahaha. Enjoy Vietnam, I hope to go one of these times even if it is just for one night.

I didn't know you could travel to Vietnam without an onward ticket. But then I've never been to Vietnam. All my travels have been to the U.S. and Europe and I've always been required onward tickets.

November of 2021, I flew from Manila to San Diego, California...with stops in Tokyo and Vancouver, Canada...I was hassled in Tokyo for not having proof of vaccination but I told her that the onward bound connector in Canada did not require one and then also told her that the only requirement to go to the United States was a PCR test made within 24 hours of my flight which I got in an all night laboratory near the airport in Manila... On the last leg of my trip from Vancouver to San Diego, the boarding ticket checker told me to step out of line...then everyone else was loaded on and she told me that I needed a proof of vaccination to enter the United States...I told her about the new rule about having a negative test 24 hours before the flight but she told me that everyone entering the United States needed proof of vaccination...well we went back and forth and she fiinally found the American requirement on her computer...what a hassle...I had been on the road for 24 hours at that point and I told her that if she refused me to board, I would lay down on the carpet right in front of her boarding podium and rest. It was a genuine ruling made on November 8th, 2021 and if I had known that they didn't know the rules, I would have printed the information out for them...her supervisor came over at one point and said to her that she thought everyone needed to be vaxed...what a nightmare. This is a job that they do everyday and they don't know the rules? I will never fly Air Canada again...their food was chain gang quality and their flight attendants were rude, overweight cows more than likely descended from pioneer women who used to pull plows...a bunch of uptight Karens. They browbeat everyone on the flights about sealing their mouth and nostrils with those bloody masks. Your fine video brought up my travel bummer and I hesitate to travel back to the Philippines until they do away with all of the foolishness.

Yes a bit stressful I see at flying in and out of airports not so smooth is it? I think I heard you also say that when you fly into the Philippines you need to show them that you already have a flight booked out of the Philippines within 30 days of your arrival. I thought you could stay in the Philippines up to 3 years before you had to leave. What have I got wrong?
@BiggWorldCinema
@BiggWorldCinema Жыл бұрын
No, you haven't got that wrong T Bone. You CAN stay for 3 years, but one of the rules on entry is that you must have an onward flight ticket out of the country within 30 days. Now, mostly you might not be asked for it. But sod's law you will. Buy a legit flight ticket from Onwardticket.com for $15 that you can show them, but will never use. Then keep renewing your visa for 3 years. Super.

@@BiggWorldCinema holy crow... What an idea... Thanks Philip for that priceless information.
@mikemasters4382
@mikemasters4382 Жыл бұрын
That's the rule, because you get only a 30 visa on arrival so technically you have to leave within those 30 days even though you could extend your visa while there but you don't have that extension when you land. You can send your passport to the Philippine embassy and get a visa for 60 days or longer, not sure how long you can get a vsia for but I've done that before when I would stay for 2 months or longer.

"The majority of Filipinos are highly proficient in English, so it is very easy to strike up a conversation and make new friends, but so last century. When you're there you feel like you're stuck in an 80s/90s time warp with the old skool music blaring out and the outdated infrastructure."
