I had to have an emergency C-Section with my son. They must have played this song in the operating room or in the recovery room, because every time I heard this song after, it reminded me of my sweet Son. But, the only difference is it was I've Been Waiting For a Son Like You, for me LOL Not Girl!! A few years before, as a teenager, I had a baby boy who I had given up for adoption, so I related to the song, when it said "This heart of mine has been hurt before", it was so true for me. 4 years ago, that other son, found me on Facebook! We all had a huge reunion together, brothers, sister and me! This song!!!

The 80's songs were about vulnerability - that feeling we could all relate to as teenager. Before internet and social media, and we were still allowed to feel whole beautiful feeling of discovery in our own way - pain of first unrequieted crush , frustration with our wings clipped when we want to fly, dreams, friends, thoughts to the plans ahead - a diary. Not drugs and guns. Those were great times to grow up. The music was was optimistic - as was our OTT (over the top) fashion. I miss the 80's!
