@@Pixietoria This came out BEFORE Kylie had released anything. The urban myth was the other way around. Kylie was accused of her records being Rick's voice sped up! There were some bonafide pop classics that came out of the SAW hit factory in all fairness.

Yep, that's his voice and he was only about 21 at the time. He's been busy the last few years after all the 'Rick Rolled' got him all the internet attention. His voice, now that he is older, is better than ever and he's just as good singing live too IMO.

The phenomenon of Rick Rolling brought such joy to my heart. The first time delighted me as a flashback, ear-worm, and weirdness.... It never got old for me. Every time I got RR'ed I had to just smile and shake my head that THIS became such a thing for a while.

Yeah, he was really young. I remember when he released "When I Fall In Love" as his Christmas single in 1987. I was 10, and to me, he looked like a "mature man" in the video. Looking at it now, he seemed barely old enough to ride a bike without support wheels!

Your face when he started singing! That was all of us in 1987 hearing this for the first time... Rick Astley is originally from Newton Le Willows 20 minutes away from where I live in Cheshire, in England.

Did you also know his dad used to have a garden shed building business on Southworth Road? Rick used to work there before he became famous. The land was sold to Trebaron Garden Centre.

The best Rick Roll in history is when the Foo fighters had Astley on stage as a guest and then The Foo Fighters lead in with the Riff to "Smells like Teen Spirit" as if they were about to cover the Nirvana song making the fans go nuts Then Astley sang Never gonna give you up over the riff. genius

RIck Astley is such a sweet guy. If you ever see his interviews, you will pick that up right away. He is full of soul, as this guy says. His voice is deeper than what you would expect from such a baby face. He is now 54 but looks significantly younger.

@@yvonnewinters9699 Well autotune was not widely used until after 1998-1999 - this song came out in 1987 😁. One enhancement that was used in various recordings from various artists was the pitch corrector and that was only on certain notes that may have been off tune, but I don't think Rick Astley needed it 😁

He probably would have continued to have a successful career, but he decided to leave the music business. His comeback album, "50" was released a few years ago for his 50th birthday and it is great! about two years later he released a follow-up album which isn't quite as good but his voice sounds exactly the same. I saw him in concert in Los Angeles and he was amazing. He's also an incredible drummer. He ended the show with Hghway to Hell by AC/DC on which he played the drums and sang.

I saw Rick Astley on the Graham Norton show, he is a really funny guy. He seems to be a genuinely great dude with a big heart. Could easily buy him a beer or two and invite him to a BBQ.

I remember hearing this way back in 1987 when this song was released in the Summer of 87 in the UK.My family and I all sat watching him for the first time on TV and our facial expressions totally matched yours when we heard him .🤣he is such an amazing singer

Yes Rick Astley has a HUGE voice, such great sound, he has most definitely made his mark, and he has a great sense of humor about the Rick Rolled thing, he thinks it is hilarious, they have even made his dance moves part of the fun.

The versions of Together Forever and Never Gonna Give You Up from his recent album The Best of Me are even better versions of the originals. While the lyrics are still the same, you can tell he's a much more experienced and mature person.

Yeah that's him, amazing vioce, the story is he was working as a tea boy in a recording studio, someone overheard him singing while working and signed him up, before that he'd never sung in public.

I remember back in the day, ( am 45 ), when my mom heard this for the 1st time on the radio. She thought it was Billy Ocean, another great artist from the 80's, who was black. She brought this album & when she got it, she thought it was a mistake. And it was a record! 🤣🤣 Then, she played it! She couldn't believe he was a cute little Brit & white to boot! Rick Astley is the bomb, still is! Listen to his latest Gospel album. It's beautiful & his voice is even better with age! He is now 57, looks exactly the same & is just an all around GREAT GUY! 🥰
