Hey guys, You are right there is no service charge on anything. Do not give selfies. It's borderline harassment. If you run into trouble don't hesitate to call the police or women helpline. Most big cities have metro you can check that out too. Enjoy your stay.

I've only been once to Delhi, made an excursion to Agra. Most of my time while working and living in India for 3 years was in Mumbai, a chaotic and polluted city. Look forward to watching your explorations and adventure in India, there are lots of nice places especially the UNESCO world heritage sites.

@@ZoeCzar India is quite a big country, so there are plenty to see, depends on your itinerary. Most of the touristy places in India are usually flocked by the locals. My favorites in India were the UNESCO world heritage sites. My fav places, although I lived and worked in Mumbai for 3 years, weren't in Mumbai and Maharashtra. Goa and Kerala are quite lovely especially cruising in the boathouse on the backwater. The Taj Mahal in Agra is almost a must visit by foreign tourists. Another favorite of mine are Udaipur and Jaipur in Rajasthan, plenty of Forts and Palaces. My most favorite places were at Shimla, Manali and Solang Valley, in Himachal Pradesh, the foothills of the Himalayan range during winter. 😀

Zoe should have charged for the selfies. You know she will be showing up on a lot of Facebook posts. - hahaha. One of my memorable impressions of India was that there were so many people and I saw true poverty when I was there. I thought India food in India had a bit more spicey curry than what I experienced in England.
@ZoeCzar Жыл бұрын
I know it’s kind of ironic because if you ask any of them for selfies they charge 😩🫣😂 and yes definitely some hot curries but less spice than I had imagined haha

If you go to Jaipur do experience the cinema - Rangmandir. Although try any cinema experience. Its so different from any other country. Do try McDonalds to check out the difference. Try a new vegetarian dish every day.

No service charge shld not be paid ,its illegal if they force it or add by default and even indians dont know it 😂 i made them remove it in all restaurants. Some restaurants also dont know it and have to show them why its illegal
@ZoeCzar Жыл бұрын
Really? Because the restaurant we went to were making us pay tips and not letting us leave the restaurant unless we give tip 🤣 thank you for this 🙏🏽

@@ZoeCzar and you can avoid selfies or anything when you are not interested by politely refusing it "sorry abi busy hoon". They are just curious to meet new people. Avoid big restaurants as it's not authentic taste , see where locals are crowded on local restaurants and authentic taste. Crowd can tell u the right places. After all the hustle don't leave before trying either south india or east india. You will leave with complete experience amidst nature after the hectic cities.

Service tax in india is for all resturants (except street vendors)
@ZoeCzar Жыл бұрын
Oh I see! Thank you 🙏🏽
@awinis Жыл бұрын
Service tax is 5% on food. Service charge is different and you can ask the restaurant to remove it if you are not happy with the service. Tipping is not mandatory, but appreciated if you like the service. If you are paying service charge, it is entirely up to you to leave an additional tip.

If you ask an auto driver for recommendations, you are most likely headed for a scam. Honest auto drivers are an exeption, not the norm. Use uber, look at google reviews, take a guided food walk to the old city, you'll be much better off if it's your first time.
