In the past there are Patani Kingdom in southern Thailand, currently area are in Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, some part in Songkla, Satul province and some part in Malaysia. Central of Patani Kingdom was at Pattani (near Krue Se Mosque in Yaring Pattani). After Patani lost to siam (2xx years ago), siam bring malayu people from Patani to central of Siam to be worker same as people from others Kingdoms which lost to siam. Later siam seperate patani to be 3 provinces. 30 years ago Malayu in Pattani southern Thailand still call Malayu in central of siam as Malayu bangkok. But nowadays just call Thai muslim for muslim in central of Thailand. Later Siam changed country name from Siam to be Thailand and all people in Thailand are Thai people. Many of muslim people in Patani and in Bangkok have white skin. Because southern people mix with Chinese since Langkasuka Kingdom . Langkasuka Kingdom located in Yarang Patani. Langkasuka was Kingdom before Patani Kingdom. Many people from area where is Chinese area in currently move to Langkasuka Kingdom, that time no Islam religion in this area yet and Langkasuka people was Hindu-Buddhist. They married local people. So Langkasuka people mix with Chinese. Hundred years later Langkasuka changed from Hindu-Buddhist to Islam. Thats why Patani people or Malayu people in Patani many of them have white skin but they dont know about chinese because mix from very long time ago.

It’s part of the Thai culture since the Ayutthaya period, during that time like you mentioned in the video Ayutthaya Kingdom is a trade center in the region it’s one of the most wealthy Kingdom in Asia during that time because of its location (kind of like Singapore nowadays) so we have a lot of people from all over the world that come here and trade like the Japanese,Chinese,Indian,Persian,Portuguese,Dutch and the French that’s why diversity is part of our culture for hundreds of years. Am Christian but my mother family are Buddhist and I grew up with many Muslim and Sikh friends we love and respect each other because we are all Thai and religion is not the barrier we Thai also have a saying “Seek common ground, preserve differences”. anyways welcome back to Thailand again Myer good to see you here. 🙏😊

The paintings on the walls just when you entered the Foundation of Islamic Community of Thailand are different messages for visitors and local cityzens. The first one on the righthand side is asking for respect the "House of Allah" as it's right on the wall of the mosque I guess. And the ones that followed was mainly advocacy and friendly reminders to stay away from drugs and alcohol, that's including the Hookah/Shihah.

Buddhism makes them accept new religions as Islam or Christianity. They are not supposed to think bad of others. Not sure if you use hedonism word in the right way there. Thai people are kind because of Buddhist culture. Peacefull :)
