Thousands of children in occupied areas were taken away for "holiday" (i.e. "re-education") camps in Russia and not returned home for months after their scheduled return date - in some cases "indefinitely" postponed. They are taking children from a warzone. The very study upon which Putin's arrest warrant was based says that the vast majority of the children are given voluntarily. The others are orphans. Also, these childern are from the East where the fighting is happening and where most, not all, but most of the civilians support Russia. The vast majority are also returned, according to the study. Asked them if they’re ok with taking children from a country you are at war with and make them citizens of the invading country. This should be asked or stated at the start of each interview. They seem to excuse this action as removing the children from harm and not exploiting the children. Russians credit Felix Derzhinsky with creating the system of orphanages in Russia. They never ask why there were so many orphans. It was because Derzhinsky and his secret police murdered their parents. Russians, the vast majority at least, are mindless sheep. They are the descendants of the people who survived all of the purges. You survived by having no opinions other than those of the state. Being willing to falsely denounce and murder your neighbors was also a useful skill. All of the Russians capable of thinking for themselves were exterminated, leaving only the docile descendants of the compliant cowards. The courage and the brains have been bred out of Russians. They have been selectively bred, like you would a farm animal, to make them utterly compliant. This is why I am so pessimistic about Russia. It isn't just that they suffer from indoctrination. Being a serf is in the Russian's DNA.

Sadly, once you have watched enough of these videos on various subjects, you finally realise most of these people are simply not capable of basic human decency. Decades of brainwashing has made them morally bankrupt. The majority are like a newly evolved sub-species that look just like normal homo-sapiens but cannot mentally function like them. Still I guess if evolution has taught us anything, it is that the vast majority of sub-species fail and die out. Considering they already have a serious demographic issue, the political, diplomatic and economic isolation Russia will face for decades to come after the war has ended, combined with the poverty brought about by the reparations they will be paying Ukraine, evolution may well be proved right.

It's not about the "rightful country of birth" - it's about the parents or the family these children were born to. Since only they have the right to determine the place of residence of their children. No matter, where ever this family might live. If they decide to migrate to Russia and take their children with them, it is their right to do so. But most of these children have parents who were desperately fighting to get their kids back. Where that comes from, I don’t know: I am fluent in English and conversational in Ukrainian, but can really only muddle my way through Russian (Polish and Belarusian make more sense to me), and that is only becomes Russian has both Latin and French influences that English also has: when my Ukrainian comes up blank, my English sometimes fills the gap, but still, Russian has a distinct Old Church Slavonic and even Turkic influences that I can’t make heads or tails of. Someone should tell some of these people that you don’t abduct children, because this constitutes genocide, a heinous war crime. Fancy being a parent having to live with that for the rest of your life, horrendous. but i think he sells it short. i assume kreml wants to go full truman show on the kids and brainwash all of them to think they were born in russia, always lived in russia, they lived happily in russia and at most they were visiting some distant relative in former ukraine soil when the ukrainian nazis started some operations and the russians were forced to intervene and save the kids. unfortunately the relatives were all killed. perhaps many of the kids never believe it but will they be able to do anything about it. after their teens theres no repercussions if officials throw them in jail or whatever. only right now they are a "touchy subject" since even in that one event one kid spoke about the war and some official ran to her and started to explain the audience why shes just in shock and not talking clear. because touching kids is still a limit for kreml this is the problem with all whitewashing of history. if you start it, theres really no end limit that you cant cross.
