Only until the children are adults the parents provide in the bible. It doesn’t say the husband supports the wife’s parents. And if the Filipina foreigners come to our country the should adapt to our culture because the man is providing them with a way out of poverty. God bless

Where are you at in Germany? How long have you lived there? That's my favorite European country by far. My wife (from Davao) loved our vacation there. There are good things and bad things about most every culture. Let's be honest. The Philippine "retirement system" is an absolute disaster. It works somewhat okay in some situations, as long as nothing ever goes wrong--and that's not the way life works in reality. If a person has a large number of children (long-term unsustainable for a society) a number of children might be able to manage to spread the burden around. For a smaller number of children, the burden is far more problematic. Then, what happens when someone dies young, or gets incarcerated in that corrupt Filipino legal system? A "plan" that is under someone else's control is ultimately nothing more than a wish or a hope, not a plan. The Philippines will need to adopt financial practices, over time, of other cultures that have proven more reliable--OR--people will still be poor there 100 years from now. Work and participating actively in the economy is essential for it to grow. Filipinos I know are generally NOT lazy, but I do know some back there, with the most lame excuses for not doing anything with their lives. There is no shame or stigma to it, like there is in the west. If you want to sit around and watch Vice Ganda on TV all day, eating a bowl of rice someone else paid for, no one will ever call you out and suggest you step up and contribute. There is tremendous pride and self-esteem built from being able to achieve goals entirely on your own. It is also honorable to work until you are well in your years. I never plan on 100% retiring. I plan to blog, vlog, or contribute something in this world that can be monetized, till the day they put me in the dirt. To the wonderful people I interact with when I'm in the Philippines: You cannot put such little value on work and personal development, blame colonialism (the U.S. put a ton of investment in the PI, if we're being honest) of many decades ago, and expect to ever advance forward. I hope I don't offend, but if I do, know that I love your country too much to be anything less than honest and tell you the blunt truth. We are living comfortably in the U.S. and are doing well, so the advice is for your benefit, not ours.
