highway patrolman was dispatched to what he thought would be a routine traffic accident until he looked in the car. While he had no formal training in forensic science, he had seen hundreds of accidents - but never as much blood as this.
Forensic Files is the longest-running true crime series in television history. Evidence and interviews with experts help solve real crimes, disease outbreaks and accidents around the world.

@@matthewmillburg3933 Since I’m a Minnesota resident, I was curious… so I did some googling Looks like he served another 10-11 years before retiring after 24 years of service. «I have been fishing the lakes of Voyageurs National Park since 1978. My family bought a resort on Lake Kabetogama in 1984. In 1986, I started guiding part time and spent almost all of my free time on the lakes. I served the citizens of MN as a Minnesota State Trooper for twenty-four years, including being a member of the SWAT team for thirteen years as well as a K9 handler and trainer for ten years. I retired the spring of 2013 to guide full time. » You can apparently now hire him to take you fishing.

sarabpreet. A true miscarriage of Justice that this evil man called Steve, wax hice. 30 years and was paroled after 11 years in prison. Not right and not fair. Steve is alive with his former mistress now wife, while Debra is gone never to come back to life. Very disgusting and disgraceful that this evil man Steve, served only 11 years in jail. Very disturbing. Poor Debra, her life was lost at the hands of her scumbag husband Steve. It is not right now fair that he is enjoying life when his wife Debra is deceased. Rest in peace always Debra, and don’t worry, Steve is going to get what he deserves ……sooner or later. Wait and see. I believe in KARMA and KARMA will get him whether he likes it ir not since KARMA doesn’t discriminate and it is real. What goes around comes around . Wait and see.

If it were not for Tony’s persistence and his intuition , this man “Steve” would have gotten away with murder and never charged in his wife death. But Steve forgot one thing: to watch Forensic Files first before committing a crime! 😂🙄. Good for you, Tony and Janis, good for both of you. This is one of my favorite episodes of the entire series. A natural born cop relies on his instincts which is exactly what officer Snyder did. So so glad that his superiors let him continue the investigation. He felt he had an obligation to Deb's family to solve it which he did (with the help of pretty Dr Amatuzio) The coroner totally botched this one. No wonder Snyder didn't believe them. I hope Tony Snyder was promoted to detective as he would make a good one. Steve Hollerman was paroled in 2014 and reportedly moved in with the same girlfriend he had when Deb was alive.

You must not pay attention very well. The coroner DIDN'T botch anything, they just weren't given ALL of the PERTINENT & CRUCIAL information. A "car crash/accident" or MVA is an extremely ambiguous term that could mean an absolutely disastrous collision that would obliterate people inside the car(s), a fender-bender with no injury or bloodshed, and a varying degree of severity in between the two scenarios. Once the proper information was brought to light, the proper conclusion was determined.💯🙄🙄🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Great investigative work by officer Tony Schneider. There are officers just like him throughout departments everywhere, it's just that they aren't highlighted on a TV show. I speak from a family of law enforcement officials. Many are dedicated to their jobs and go far beyond traffic stops and those breaking the law. I think it took a team to get to the bottom of what really happened. I don't understand the light sentence, 30 years for killing someone and trying to cover it up? No justice there but at least he is held accountable and punished to a certain extent for the brutal attack.

@@stokes2672 most are not. The very societal nature of being in the police force makes it impossible for any "good" officer to survive or thrive. The way cops protect their own is toxic and it only extends to when the officer is doing negative acts. Did you see what happened to the female officer who pulled her chief off of a handcuffed suspect who was already in custody? She was doing her due diligence to hold her colleague accountable for unnecessary violence twords a perp and he put his hands around her throat. In front of a crowd of officers and not one of them stopped him or came to her aid. The whole thing was caught on video and he suffered no consequences with other officers saying they still needed to "investigate" the situation. Please tell me how good officers can exist in an environment like that? They can't. ACAB

Intuition backed up by experience. 😊 Angry that the murderer walked free after 11 years.

Can't help but wonder how much of it was other cops going "eh, can't be bothered to do the work. Let's call it a car crash so we can file it away and grab a coffee" Thay kind of motivation is pretty rare for cops. Even now you see cases where they call it a suicide or accident when it's very clearly not. I wonder if the poor guy has had that spark and motivation beaten out of him by the system yet. Being a good cop doesn't get you nearly as far as being a suck ass does

The first autopsy really closed off a lot of avenues in this case.
