It is so sad that he spent 25 years on death row without being executed. I am sure the hard- working tax- payers of Pennsylvania spent millions of dollars on appeals for this slime bag to outlive the process. There is something wrong with Americas justice system.

Thank you for the update . America shouldn’t have an individual on death row for such a long and extensive period of time . While hard work taxpayers money are subsidized killers . I not playing God but if and individual doesn’t valve the life of another they don’t deserve to life their best life . So in my opinion sitting on death row should be 1 yr max and then …….

So, David Copenheffer killed Mr. Harry Weiner because the latter turned down the $25,000 loan that David applied for. SMH. My gosh, to the extent that people go to get what they want, is disgraceful and shameful. This man, Copenheffer, was pure evil, full of malice, a cold-blooded murderer that killed an innocent woman for a rejected loan. Unbelievable, it disgusts me to my core. core. Rest in Peace always, Sally Weiner 🙏

he had already killed her, the journalist had heard of the kidnapping from a police scanner but he wasn't interviewing the bookstore guy, just making conversation. The effect was that the killer didn't go to the ransom drop, but Sally had already been killed at this point, as was his plan. But yeah, it does show why police try to control information in these cases. but there is a flip side as well where the police might be covering up a crime and the media prevents that. it's a delicate balance.

Exactly! The only murder that makes any kind of psychological sense is a revenge/defensive(?) murder, where it no longer matters what happens to you as long as the other person dies. (By "defensive murder" I would consider murders to protect something or someone else very valuable to the killer. This includes cases where a parent kills their child's abuser, for instance. Psychologically it's a mix of vengeance and "this person will never do this again," which kind of lumps it into the same category in my opinion.) This doesn't mean I approve of these cases, of course. It's just the only reason that makes any sense at all. Things like money or lust are completely solvable problems. You don't have to jeopardize your entire way of living in order to resolve the issue. The only case in which I would say that the person is mentally consistent is if they don't care what happens to them afterward. Otherwise, a high-risk move like a murder, that never ever ever goes away and that you can never ever escape from, where you're always at risk of a new technique or new discovery coming out and finally catching you, is just an incredibly counterproductive move. You want to keep running your store? Hard to run it from prison! You want to live with your new lover? Guess what, you're living in a cell now! You want money? Lawyer fees are absurdly high and will consume everything you made from the murder long before you have a chance to be condemned or acquitted. Whatever it is you want, whatever you imagine your life to look like after the murder, you're guaranteed to lose it WHEN, not if, you're caught. Murder is, quite frankly, stupid as hell, and if your reason for murder has anything at all to do with what happens to you afterward, you've made a grave mistake.

That was in 1988, I would call her naive, because scamming and other criminal activity wasn’t nearly as bad as it is today, but the old saying still holds true, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is, she walked right into the waiting trap of a man, who I fully believe was already a murderer, they just couldn’t come up with enough evidence to convict him in that other case.
