My family owned car dealerships and when this model Supra first came out I had to drive the first one of the boat in Oakland back to Sacramento. Everytime I stopped someone asked what I was driving and that was most beautiful car they had ever seen. Even pulled over by a cop didn’t ask me for my license just apologized for pulling me over but had to see this car up close. I’ve never seen a car get so much attention and at the time six speed manuals were unheard of. This car will always have special place in my heart.

This car will have a special place in countless lives. Toyota really missed the mark with the new "Supra". All they had to do was use the MK4 as a base and keep it looking close while upgrading everything else.

@@Lovetheducksfor some reason I doubt this… no one cared about these cars back then nearly as much as they do nowadays. Stopped everywhere you went and everyone glazing you about how beautiful it was? I could see that happening today don’t get me wrong, but back then even enthusiast owners were letting these cars go for next to nothing. They weren’t considered very special and they most definitely weren’t anywhere near as respected and regarded as they are today. No I’m not a Supra hater, I love my Toyotas and more specifically Lexus, your story just sounds over the top haha.

It's doable. I do mine weekly/bi-weekly with rinseless wash and then for wheels and tires I have a battery powered Ryobi pressure washer (brushless version) that has a siphon tube to pull from any water source. So I fill one bucket with rinseless, another with wheel stuff, and another with just water for the pressure washer from the bathtub.

Fast & Furious throwback in the first 10 seconds 🤩 Amazing video and great work! Those before and after shots when polishing.. Just wow 🤩
Jon, this video was fun to watch and the actual transformation. I noticed that you used the Glaco glass compound. This product is, without any doubt, worth every penny you pay. I had a lot of water staining and road grime stuck to my CRV windshield. I made a purchase strictly with the frame of mind, what do I have to lose. I was absolutely stunned. When I finished removing the compound, I stood in silence and just couldn’t believe the result. Would recommend this product to everyone who would ask. Anyway, my two cents, and till the next one.👍🏻😎

Great transformation from beginning to end. Can’t help but think you missed a trick though John. I agree with your method of ‘dry soak’ for the pre-wash, especially this level of dirt. What a breath taking video, I was welling up at the end from such an amazing job you guys pulled off fantastic thank you for producing this video such a beautiful iconic sports car being served justice and brought back to life as it should. I have my pride n joy (also black and normally kept in my heated garage) a 95 Corsa with an Astra GTE engine conversion, not quite a Toyota Supra I understand but it brings a lot of nostalgia and happiness to my life from when I passed my test 18 years ago. I've barely drove it 100 miles in 6 years of ownership and the time has come for some mechanical work but sadly it's spent some time (5 months) in a busy dusty garage compound and the state it's become with moss and scum build up etc (similar to the Supra's condition) WAS very VERY upsetting to see up until I watched this video. I am now excited to get it back and attempt to relay the efforts you've selflessly demonstrated here. Thank you once again Forensic Detailing Channel definitely worth a subscribe 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

This is a great video Jon, and shows what most main dealership valeters have to do every day of the week. Unfortunately, when people buy new cars every 3 years, they tend to simply run them into the ground knowing they are getting a new one when the pcp runs out. So they tend to never clean them inside or out. Not usually as bad as this Supra, but some are terrible inside, literally covered in chocolate and felt tip pen in the back where the kids have been. That said, you guys did a superb job, and for free, wow, real respect to all of you.

@@typedrew Excuse me ? How do you know what every dealership valeter does and at what level ? You don't, that's the truth. I have a lot of respect for Jon, and the work he does, and have been a subscriber for many years, I also worked as a valeter myself, and also had detailing work done on my own car. There are levels, and some dealership valeters are highly skilled, and can carry out 2 or 3 stage paint correction, and some detailers charge top money for a very average job most valeters could do. So please stop being a know it all without knowing it all.

@@ForensicDetailing guessed as much. That's the problem with so much moss and algae. Did a restoration of something similar with an MX5 a while back. Headlights needed a full on restoration and for that to happen, the whole unit needed to be stripped out with compound polishing etc. The lights needed dismantling or replacing and the insides needed as much as the outside. Think the seal was starting to fail on one of them as condensation and water droplets was starting to build up inside. Then the air blower was starting to give out just as the car was being readied for sale (impeccable timing, couldn't have written a better script!). The algae ruined the stop top of the car (honestly last time I ever buy a soft top, such hard work to restore and maintain especially outside in the British weather) and embedded itself into the very fabrics and plastic trims of the car. Honestly never worked harder restoring that car to a half decently respectable standard in my whole life. Looked good though with a full lick of blackener on the soft top and protection.
