I have completed Red Island and it is marked as completed. But Forest Island is not unlocked? Do I have to have certain items out of storage or upgraded to certain levels for this island to unlock?

Can i just ask what was the reward for fixing the hut? Is that Salt? I cant tell. Cos ive finished the island and collected the totem but havent fixed the hut yet BUT still managed to unlock the next island. Is it worthwhile fixing it? Island closes in a few hours and i have a few ropes left to make for it
