This is an old English folk song made famous by Simon and Garfunkel. Forestella did a fantastic job covering it. They sang this for the Immortal songs competition where the theme was “ song from the ages”

Thank you for your wonderful reaction to Forestella again! There are some stories about this song Scarborough Fair..what I've read was this is a song from a ghost (soul) of a dead soldier. He asked the herbs growing on his dead body to deliver his message to his beloved girl in Scarborough Fair where was a big herb market. He asked the herbs to tell her impossible task "Tell her to make me a cambric shirt without no seams nor needle work" to make her give up waiting for his coming back as he's already unable as he's dead. Forestella sang like as messengers of this sad and beautiful story. Also there are symbols those herbs significated: parsley for comfort or to remove bitterness, sage for strength, thyme for courage, rosemary for love. There's some speculation that these four herbs were used in a tonic of some sort to remove curses. What I first heard was to remove memories..so I thought he (the dead soldier) wanted to remove the memory about him from his girl to make her not mourning for him any more. BTW I found those herbs cannot be grown in same areas in fact while on my researching for English references.. so it could be just for remembering recipe for turkey seasoning ingredients, too. Immortal Songs(I'll say IS) is a kind of remake rendition competition show for legendary musicians. Usually, someone living legend in Korean music is invited and 6~12 teams compete with a rendition of the songs related to the legend. But sometimes there are episodes inviting nobody and having specific themes. Now it's changed a little, the numbers of teams to 5~15. IS diversed the invited artists more like not only living legends but also popular young artists. This was for a special theme as the song of the Time. (Time travel special episode) Forestella represented 1600th era while others did 1970, 1980 etc. At each half of the year there's King of the Kings (I'll say KoK) episode. At the KoK episode in the end of the year the winners from each episode through the year compete each other with any cover they choose. So in KoK no legend invited. This weekend (actually today, 15th of July, the birthday of Bae DooHoon BTW) the KoK for the 1st half of 2023 comes. Forestella won no episode this period, but IS invited Forestella to perform (not to compete) as the record holder of 6 times consecutive winning KoK. Forestella would sing Despacito. I hope it wouldn't be geoblocked like Legends Never Die, their latest IS performance..

"Scarborough Fair" is an English medieval folk song. Made famous by the Simon and Garfunkel version since the 60's. FORESTELLA has brilliantly interpreted this song in a very classic way. This is where their voices, harmonies and technical skills come into their own. But they perform in all genres. I also strongly recommend their version of "Lazenka Save Us" (EPIC Korean Rock) and "Warriors" or "Legends Never Die" (both "League of Legends")
