Kabula remains one of my favorite non-final bosses in the Kirby series. Her return in Robobot caught me off guard, but made me smile. (You can imagine the look on my face when Nova reappeared..)

KSSU has my favorite kabula fight and theme too. It feels really aggressive and tense, I personally like that part because it makes me feel like I can go all out without ending the battle too quickly.

The thing about KSSU's Kabula fight that makes it so good is that it strikes a fine balance between being difficult but not being unfair. Like, there's no full-screen attacks, the sprite sizes don't make it difficult to figure out where you are and if you're gonna dodge an attack, and you don't feel like you can't get any hits in, especially given that you can't turn away from Kabula and so your line of fire isn't turned away from her. At the same time, though, Kabula is no walk in the park. You have to think and react fast, dodge her fast and nimble movements, and unleash bullet hell on her to chip away at her health, bit by bit. If you're brave and have vibrating fingers and fast reactions and really good readings on her movement tells, you can get up really, really close to Kabula and you'll be able to wipe the floor with her in under 15 seconds. My absolute favorite Kabula fight, by far.

I don't mean to pry, but it's just worth noting that Kirby's Epic Yarn also has a Kabula (or Mint Breath) theme in it as well. It's similar to the Kirby Air Ride one, so maybe that's why it wasn't included, but in that game, there is a Kabula theme that plays when Kirby becomes a tank, or during the entirety of the Moon Base level in Space Land.
