FINALS ARE OVER. Hey, how many gallons of SH do you use per house? Just wondering. I'm out here this morning looking for leads! I know it varies depending on SH concentration, method of injection (xjet, traditional downstream...), etc etc... Still, just curious how many gallons of SH you usually use on a typical house, say an average one story home, per your setup. Thanks for the videos and information!
@timjesse82673 жыл бұрын
When doing a driveway use the surface cleaner first. You're going to rinse the driveway off after that anyways so go around the edges at that time while rinsing it off. Saves a step.

Love your videos. I have a small pressure washing company myself. I have read that laundry detergent is better than dawn soap to use. Personally had better results too. Also helps cover the bleach smell and actually makes the soft wash mix smell good and makes it a little stickier to cling to the siding. Although it’s kind of expensive I use an xjet to apply chem. It’s badass though. Well worth the money and with an xjet your chem doesn’t go through the pump like a down stream injector. And you spray chem at a 2:1 ratio with the xjet when you have straight SH in your bucket. Don’t even have to mix it with water. Just pool essentials and laundry detergent and the water from the gun makes it 2:1 perfect ratio.

I use Apple Wash to cover the bleach scent in place of dawn. Its more expensive but totally worth it. Laundry detergent is a good option but to charge more use the better stuff and get better results. If you look into cover scents there is a ton. Apple wash just also turns pink when you apply so it looks cool if the customer is watching as well as someone starting with chemical it shows us coverage area and how thick its going on. A 5% mix is to hot for siding and could easily burn and kill plants. Always presoak all plant in the area to help prevent killing then and always rinse them off afterwards. I use a 1.5%-2% mix wit h all my jobs and it works great. Dwell time is between 2 to 3 minutes then wash back off. If your doing a roof you'll want to have a little hotter mix 3%-4% with a longer dwell time and you won't need as much surfactant. I love having my soft wash system now because i feel like I can manage my chemical cost so much easier and I'm not wasting as much with a down streamer.

@johnbarry87685 жыл бұрын
4:1 for houses is definitely what you want to aim for and 1:1 for roofs, but it also depends on what percentage of sh is in the gallon of pool esentials you bought, we do 4:1 on homes for softwashing and the product we use has 10% sh works like a charm but it is a lot of sh so you MUST pre amd posy wet all plants!
@j.d.williams81455 жыл бұрын
What Joe and John said. That is definitely a hot mix for siding. 3% is close to a roof mix. It all depends on what the percentage of sodium hypochlorite in the bleach as to how you want to make the mix. if its a 12.5% and you do 10 to 1 your mix will be 1.25% which will be more than plenty on a siding job. As to what Dave said, I also pretreat a lot of concrete I do, it speeds the job up and also helps prevent striping. Good luck buddy, keep the hustle it will pay off. Just do your homework and you will be fine. Ask questions, join groups on FB etc.

Nice bro... Good job at transitioning to soft washing. I laugh and shake my head when I drive by other "power washing companies" (a dude in his truck with a door sign), standing on ladders, hitting the siding with tons of pressure, etc... and then he's STILL there when I drive back through hours later... When all he needed was a little knowledge, a few extra bucks to downstream, and he could've left that ladder on his truck, soft washed from the ground, and could start making 4 times the money per day, because the house he was doing should've taken an hour, and not half the day I seen him there.
