Great and informative videos as always, great work. One thing I was wondering. Is it not maybe faster to wait to start upgrading your shipyard to 295 until the generate flowers task has been completed? Then you get 100 from upgrading festival and shipyard, 25 from fireworks and then all you need after that is 75 hats. Or it may even be cheaper and quicker to just buy 100 hats and not have to do fireworks at all, unless they are needed for supply and demand. Plus it doesn't seem change how many shamrocks you are generating. I was on the same spot on two different worlds, with a +12 upgrade to be done on both and after upgrading the one, my output didn't change.

So after waking up this morning and getting shipyard and festival to 300, in hindsight, get your fireworks factory to 50 first and get the other 75 from hats. For supply/demand and max shamrock output, you need to have the fireworks factory at 50 so best and quicker to for that first after the 300s.

Great video. Last year I think I completed at least 5 towns, getting 8.4 in each one, and I still had tons of time remaining. There's no need to worry. My advice is get as many pots of gold as quickly as you can by rushing through the rush quests. You can set the first town up, and when its running by itself finish the rest of the quests on day 1. I used Moo's spreadsheet from 2 years ago, and everything worked out fine :) First time, I dreaded this event, now its my favorite event.

I would like to start by offering my deepest gratitude to you for all the work you do. Thank you. Your videos have helped me a lot. I probably have not thought this through, so i will ask you ... why not just go ahead and start a new town from zero by the time you are looking at a six hour wait, in order to progress through and earn grand prizes faster? What is the benefit in seeing a town through to the end? Also, by the time i got to the long wait time i realized i had not collected something in time and still had the task of levelling buildings to 150 to complete (i see you had the task of level to 200 by this point) would it be best for me to just go ahead to town 2 now? or can i make it up without it affecting me too much?

You need 8.4Q shamrocks to complete, so you have to wait those hours. The only exception is the very first town, this year you only need 1M shamrocks for that, so in that case no need to wait the final 6h. As for your situation, I'd just move on to the next town, following my plan. It's early enough, and you'll get enough pots that it doesn't really matter. Depending on your strategy you might have to complete the tasks you missed later on, but that's easy enough to do. Either do another full extra town, or for your last town you can start it, complete the tasks you need, and then stop, without having to complete it (if you don't want to).

You can check your current tasks and compare to the tasks for the different towns. Easiest is to check the first three tasks in a new town. If you're on browser the FoE Helper extension will also tell you which town you're in.

Best way is to keep track of which you're in, but if you've lost track you can check your current tasks and compare to the tasks for the different towns. Easiest is to check the first three tasks in a new town. If you're on browser the FoE Helper extension will also tell you which town you're in.

Love your walkthroughs! But 1 question, at minute 5 you explain the leveling system, but for example. If you wait with the leveling of your shipyard to 295 untill you get the 200 upgrade quest, does that again add extra time to complete or maybe even lower it further? Cause your shamrocks stack anyway on both sides, so doesn't seem like you lose any extra time if you do. And you finish the upgrading quest earlier. Would love to hear your thoughts about this

Checking it my simulator and it's 8ish minutes slower. My guess is you don't stockpile enough shamrocks if you wait, and the extra upgrades you need to do in flowers at the end takes literally one festival collection, so you don't save any time avoiding those.

It looks like you can move on much faster and complete a town without quintillions of shamrocks. I haven't pressed the button, but it looks like it's offering me the opportunity to move to town 2 after 1M shamrocks. Is this right? Edited to add: I tested this out doing a town in 20 mins with a spend of 50 gold on three managers and received a Celtic farmstead selection kit and 7 quests (I actually tried with one manager only for the hats, but it was buggy so i added a couple of managers and tht fixed it). The second city requires 8.4 quintillion, so it's a one off and probably needs some thought on how to best use it.

Your are able to end the very first town a lot earlier than all other towns, this tutorial is based on a regular town 1 (which will be town 4, 7, 10, 13, etc), You can still play the first town like I did in the video, completing the same tasks. Only difference is that you are able to finish much earlier.

Hey, for the 2.5 town strategy you can follow this tutorial in the beginning, but you only need to get the managers to level 1 (instead of my recommendations here), and you only need to unlock the first 4 factories (festival, shipyard, hats, and fireworks). After you have completed 7 tasks (I go over which in my other video/written strategy guide), you can move on to town 2. Town 2 and 3 you follow my other tutorials, except you need to pick up 4 additional tasks. I have a few suggestions in my strategy video/written guide :)

Completing many towns is the best way to get many quests. It's not clear what you were asking though. The normal choice in this game is between either completing a few towns (4-6) AND paying for a full set of rewards after each (there are enough pots to do this for the first FIVE towns); OR completing many towns (ideally 15+) to complete many tasks and get a lot of grand prizes (including two sets of Archdruid Golden upgrade kit fragments). If you are trying to complete many towns, you need to be able to check your towns more often (every day of the event) than if you have less game time and plan to complete few towns. If you plan to complete many towns, you should avoid opening a full set of rewards after any of the towns, but it is ok to open the first (free) reward, and sometimes a second reward too after each town completed. The third option of course is a blend of these two approaches, i.e. try to complete many towns, but occasionally open a full set of rewards after one of them, OR sometimes open several reward boxes. Both of these approaches cost you more pots, so reduce the number of towns that you can complete, i.e. you get fewer grand prizes (unless you are also willing to buy pots with diamonds of course). However, you get a bit more control about going for specific reward prizes after towns, so this is the sort of approach you might use if you are trying to focus on either Druid Temple, Celtic Farmstead, or Archdruid upgrade kits. (You can't have them all unless you pay a lot of diamonds on extra Pots; you have to be clear about your goals.)

@@davidbarry6900 a few small corrections for the many town strategy: When completing a town you should have enough PoG to buy the 5 prizes = 1400 pot with new discount (in addition to the free one). But you should not buy UNLESS one of the 6 prizes is the golden upgrade fragment. If one of the six prizes is the golden fragment you should open the free box and see what you get. If you are lucky and git the golden fragment do not buy any more box (it does happen!) If the first box give you something else you should buy the whole set with discount. DO NOT try your luck to pay less pots. If you need to spend any pot you want the bonus upgrade that you get opening all six. Reason: A complete town cost around 1k pots (it depend on which town but it's a good approximation) each town has 38 task but you skip some, each town is between 30 and 35 tasks. You get one upgrade kit every 2 grand prizes = 50 tasks. So spending 1400 to get the 6 boxes will make you complete around 1.4 less town. But the extra upgrade kit will compensate for the missing grand prizes.

It depends what your strategy is :) I will probably do a full city minus the hours at the end, but if you need a certain amount of extra tasks for your strategy using the first town for that can be a good way to do it. Purely time-wise, though, completing a full town 1 is better than using it for extra task. You can do the extra tasks just as quickly from a final town (that you don't complete), so you still need to do the same number of full length towns. If you do town 1 as a regular town, however, you will save 6h40m at the end :) Either way works, but that's some of my thoughts. I'll talk more about it in my strategy guide coming out in a few days.

@@MooingCatFoE Yes but u can get that quests cheap and fast. That would enable you to do either a very low cost long time city or just safe some Pots of Gold. If it is the first Quest Pattern in City one you can get 15 Quests for only spending 190 Pots of Gold

You need to complete way too many towns (33 with my manager recommendations, 28 if you complete all tasks). Only way to do that is to spend a lot of diamonds for pots to spend on higher manager levels and time skips.

I asked myself the same question, but Mooingcat confirmed that it was not the first town he played, only the first town 1 he filmed. It's a Town 1 (they cycle) and this tutorial works 100% for the first city and every Town 1 after that (4, 7, 10 etc), but since it was actually the 4th town he played in the beta, he had progress left from his previous town. That's why there's 7/25 tasks at the beginning of the video, while we start with 0!

Yeah this sucked, I did 12 towns on beta using your old guide, it was 10 towns before the 50 frags was offered, and ended up running out of pots, I opened too many boxes at the start, I think just opening the free one and maybe the 50 is best.

@mooningcat you need to take away the newsletter event currency from you videos - Many haven't had it this event, and according to the Danish Community Manager you are not guaranteed to get the letter even though you are subscribed to it, it is purely up to the marketing department to decide who gets it and who doesn't get it

Would you please stop these dumb updates, if you're going to cover the event, cover it as if you didn't do it the last year. I'm trying to find out about Saint Patrick's Day. It's 2024. All you refer to was last year, so I googled back to the 2023 overview, and it's just another update of 2022. This is crap and I will stop following you since you're too lazy to just cover this year's event. As it is. You can compare to the previous year but I have to be able to watch the event and understand what's going on as a new player. That's what these videos are for. Experience players played last year and they don't need your update. It gets really old...
