That really depends on 1) how much of the work are you doing yourself, and 2) what heads and cam are you getting? You could spend $2k or $10k.

I was going to ask if you're thinking about lowering the rear just a tad. Go for it. What about installing rock guards/mud flaps all the way round, or at least on the back? I think you may need them. Save the Wave.🙋‍♂️

My Corvette Life I though they looked familiar. I have the ZR1 style splitter on my C5. I went with the Carbon Fiber one though. I want to get the side skirts, just haven’t done it yet. Thanks for the reply.

Looks great. Not surprised see that Forgestar/iForged executed your offset poorly. This should be a lesson for anyone that wants to update or improve aesthetics of their cars. You will have to pony up the $ for hub-centric wheels. Like, HRE or Fiske etc. Not wheels outsourced to many different vendors by a guy that lives in his apartment. Great looking C5 and you have a great eye for what looks great. Just a bad wheel company to buy from. Some get lucky many do not.

The offset was intentional. I like the look. And the front offset will clear A big brake kit in my future.

My Corvette Life Liking the look I understand but the offset is wrong. Especially when you’re talking about lowering with those flares. The tires will definitely rub and if you go as low as you should, those rear quarters will need replaced. You’re not the first like I said. Forgestars aren’t hub-centric and the company is owned by a hack. I don’t think you’re saying you told a vendor you wanted C5 spec wheels with rears that fit 2 inch flared quarters but make them stick out. Sorry. I have 20x13 inch rears and 3-1/4 inch flares. Rather than deal with iForged again or pony up for another set of $5000.00 wheels I had flares made to custom size so I didn’t have to deal with the angst of lowering knowing the lip of the fender was directly in line for impact. These cars with flared quarters look AMAZING with proper fitment. Like I said, you have a great eye for tasteful mods.

Wouldn’t refund anything, corvette forum vendor was useless (can’t say negative on forum or you’ll get banned) etc. I really would like to know the details. I thought these were legit so many Vette owners run Forgestar wheels.

Mike Rollins hey brother. Sorry to hear about your experience. You’re on the forum? Send me a pm and I’ll try to link you to some old complaints. The owner of Forgstar came up with that company name and cheap process of making those wheels because he was having so many problems with his wannabe “HRE” wheels. The iForged brand was an attempt at making 1 piece, 2 piece and 3 piece wheels. He used to be a vendor on the forum and many others but complaint after complaint and not owning failure got him booted. I bought a set of 3 piece iForged Daytona’s in 2007/8. The offset was off like the owner of this channels offset. I have yet to see a set of Forgstar that use Forgstars recommended offsets that fit properly. Not to mention they aren’t even hubcentric. It’s an expensive education. But I’m not poking as I paid for it too. Most people that have these wheels with the wrong offset like the one in the video. The owners all tell you, “well I wanted them to stick out like this because I like the look.” I assume they like the feeling of their butt puckering up when they go through an unexpected dip in the freeway at 70 mph. So anyway. When it comes to wheels these days just make sure to dig and research the owner and customer service. Of the OWNER. A vendor could be a great person etc but if the owner of the company that makes your wheels tells the vendors to kick rocks when they poorly execute their product then you’re screwed. And in an nutshell that’s who Vincent Wong is. Google search “who owns iForged wheels”. You’ll find thread after thread, Porsche, viper, Corvette forums etc talking about people paying $4000 in 2006 and on and waiting a year for wheels to arrive that don’t fit right and some people just not receiving anything even. That’s before you even get started reading any “quality control” or “lack of customer service” threads. Lol. The owner of Forgstar borrowed some money from his uncle. Came up with the name and started “iForged”, he ran this business out of his apartment. He’d source a company to cut the wheels, then have them send to someone else to paint wheels, then someone else to finish, paint etc. everything outsourced. He was never a brick and mortar company. I still have my iForged but if you look me up on the forum google “C5 Corvette of the year 2018 Corvette forum”. The picture of my car is how wheels are supposed to fit unless you’re driving a late model race car around a dirt track. The flared quarters I installed are 3-1/4 inch flared. All the quarters you buy today are 2 inch but Vincent Wong isn’t about precision so they come wrong unless you insist on a specific offset with numbers you provide. Then there’s the issue you had. Countless stories of wheels with cracks and wheels breaking or deformed. It’s truly a roll of the dice. Especially when he started making the cheaper option spun cast “Forgestar” wheel in an attempt to escape litigation. I can assume from the sample size he’s provided that “iForged” and “Forgestar” show ownership in different people or there’s some sort of protection setup so he doesn’t get the comapny sued shut. My name is “tbrent” on the forum. Sorry for rambling but there’s so much bad crap from this company and people usually don’t seem to care because the want the look of custom wheels but don’t want to pay for truly hub centric quality wheels.

The offset on the rear wheels is very wrong. Inspect rims for stress fractures on spokes often.

Looks like you went with the same specs as the c6z wheel. Why not get a different offset to eliminate the need for the spacers in the rear?
