We love the Isle of Wight as we spent our honeymoon here in October 1987. We try and visit every few years and have just returned from a weeks holiday there in July. We caught the ferry from Yarmouth so revisiting the town again with you was so nice. We visited that nature reserve also 😊 and took lots of lovely photos. Keep enjoying your travels.

You’ve certainly found some good places. By map or list! Castle looked interesting. 👻 no health and safety in those days. Oh dear-Those skittles 🤣 Newtown looked really nice. Haven’t been there. I do like a good second hand book. We have worried about taking Merlin to the IOW for the same reasons as you had. But would happily go after seeing your trip. Hide did look cosy. The threat of the kilt must have scared those gulls Ken. Don’t know how you resisted that bun! Take care both. 😊

Another great video. Love Newtown Creek, my favourite spot to stop when sailing and drop the anchor for a few nights and chill out. Often see lots of seals and all sorts of bird life. Have you thought of using Apple Maps for storing your potential destinations. You can create multiple Guides and store all the places you want to visit in an area. You can also create multiple guides so you can create them in advance when you visit an area. For example IOW, Sussex, Ireland, Norway, etc. etc. PS that buoy with the bell that was annoying you is called Sconce, it’s a north cardinal meaning vessels should keep to the north of it and the bell is to warn sailors of its location is poor visibility! Hope the back is improving.

What a lovely genteel day, most enjoyable. Here we are finally getting warmer spring weather, interspersed with frosts and cold fronts (24C yesterday, 9C today), looks almost like Isle of Wight weather, minus caramel cakes & subsiding buildings. We have some hides in the Catlins locally, to view yellow-eyed penguins, mostly on a large TV screen, as they are so rare and endangered, their actual whereabouts are kept very secret. £7.15 A day is expensive if they want to encourage tourists who spend money buying a card that costs more is not a good idea than just paying the normal parking fees. There's a lot of history on the isle of white, hope Carol enjoyed that bun. Ken have you tried Arnica jell rubbed into your back sometimes the old ways work better than modern
