the +10% reliability seems interesting to add more components to a tank model

@@Tommuli_Haudankaivaja It does but you have to activate the policy before designing the tank, although the +10% is best on the mech designer as adding reliability both costs a lot of XP and increases the production cost

​@@Tommuli_Haudankaivaja Reliability increases are multiplicatives of the actual reliability. That means an Equipment type that has 80% reliability will get +8% reliability if you add the 10% Bonus. 10% of 80 is 8.

Keep in mind in MP currently the meta is Tank Destroyers. That has the consequence that a lot of fighting tank divisions have more Hard Attack than soft attack resulting actually in a very weird situation where it is actually better to have LESS! hardness because more hardness means you take more damage.

The MIO policies are applicable for refitting! By just applying that MIO and spending a few days refitting per ship, you will get 25% more range out of your ships. This will allow tier 1&2 destroyers to reach much further.

While i dont disagree with the placment of the research mio policy, but i think something you may have overlooked when it comes to how strong this policy can be, is when your diversifying your research into alot of tech, you end up even as the americans reaching 1943 and haveing tons of items still left to research. Adding this 20% boost to the Lockheed desginer basically allows you to research air tech at a flat 35% faster rate and can be achieved as early as 1940 i believe. Add that with the industial liason and your researching speed for late game tech is massive. Basically getting you to the point of unlocking fighter 4s super early on. The 35% flat bonus is also nice when trying to catch up on tech you may have neglected like Navy, or tank upgrades giving you less of a penalty when prioritizing certain tech overall. Lastly these policies can be changed after 180 days so researching your air for example fairly ahead of time then switching to the increased range for strat bombers is kind of a mid maxy way of getting the absolute best fighters ahead of time while also building up your Heavy bombers aswell. This all naturally applies to tanks and navy mios aswell.

One thing about Ruthless Contracts to keep in mind is that the later levels of MIOs are more expensive. It's counterbalanced by the funds from factories growing fast enough to keep MIOs levelling up though. It feels like maybe some MIO policies should unlock earlier to balance them better, like if the funds bonus was better and you got it earlier, it could be handy to quickly get the MIO production bonuses sooner. It's just kinda orphaned as a policy.

I personally think that casting specialist is S tier because it makes medium AA tanks have the same hardness as the normal mediums which is amazing

The research policy procs better for the countries like Finland who get free level ups in their mios. It let's them get the policy a couple years before other nations and helps a bit, but I always go for reliability because SP.

I think he missed Propulsion Experimenters. Other than that, don't disregard +20% research because it's super important for a medium or minor power that can't get to it's fourth and fifth research slot. This means that they have a really big "backlog" of pending research to do to gain technological parity. Same thing for majors as, even with 5 research slots, there's a moment when you need to start resarching ahead of time "futuristic" tech to get the technological edge. Even if you don't go into ahead techs, you can also get more diversified techs if you really don't want to specialise.

The universal problem with it is that it requires level 5, so unless you have some weird situation where you've been producing a lot of equipment without researching better variants you probably already have the techs you care about by the time you can take it. With that said the pp cost is so cheap if you really wanted to micro it you could probably switch to the policy you want to design with, do your designs then switch to the research policy for doing research or one of the production efficiency policies.

13:18 two massive fleets sailing towards each other on one of them the captain is standing on the bridge whit a cup of tea filled to the brim yet as the storm rages on around them he spill not a single drop. meanwhile on the other ship the gunner carrying the shell looks like he had 30 pints of bear. 14:10 that could also be useful for a nation like China that might tassle whit Japan (thats near) but will probably not for a long time sail far. Also Feels like a few of them can seriously depend on the nation National spirits as some nation National spirits can provides some serius buff or defuffs. Like how china or at least I remember China having the no naval tradition meaning they had so many penalties for ships it was insane.

7:46 Ruthless contracts. You know what. 100% funds gain would be worth it. Funds slow down I feel in the mid war, because techs aren’t as focused and the costs increase. So you rely more on production funds. Also, there are MIO points still to get for many in dismal companies after 6, so I can imagine the Soviets picking +100% funds to finish out their tanks or something. It’d make it occasionally pretty good. But 10% feels like nothing, I also don’t think doubled funds growth from production would be unbalanced.

For tank MIOs specifically I have to push back strongly and say that the reliability policy is potentially the strongest depending on your situation. Now granted there is the added production cost for a more complex tank, but that extra reliability being able to be spent on speed or armor or simply being able to free up a utility slot with something besides wet ammo storage is quite valuable and the only policies that can compete are the ones that boost production in the event you are too constrained economically to make a 'good' tank.

10:14 The Navy Welding Specialists give -5% production cost, but the tank ones give +5% armour. You seem to think they do the same.

Different policies should be eligible at different levels. Maybe unlock the investigation or funding at level 1 or 2 and the others at higher levels. Do you want to select the investigation one to get technologies faster or maybe the funding one to get traits faster and unlock the other policies faster? Who would have though that giving choices would be the right thing for a strategy game?

The base hit chance for naval units is 0.1 (10%). It's stated in the defines.

Gantry cranes however ONLY apply to heavy tanks, trains, and railway guns. Only worth it if you're making heavies, IMO.

For me, the 10% to naval hit chance is like +10% to the default value, so 110%.

To me space efficient design is the S tier. Because the carrier designer is actually the task force deisgner, meaning it also designs destroyers and cruisers in a task force way (you can design destroyers for task force or just for escort, task force destroyers usually have more capabilities like anti-air, torpedoes, light attack, while escort destroyers are focused on anti-sub. Just like real life doctrine), get space efficient design and you will get big range improvement of your carrier task force, also your carriers are stronger with more space.

I always focus my MIO bonuses on max speed over range and then pick up this policy. It's objectively the most valuable naval policy in terms of ipc value even if you aren't building carriers

i did not really use carriers. But you said they dont/can't launch planes at all at storms? so even if the penalty is -99% there is still a storm. Will they launch planes?

They perform sorties in all weather, but suffer massive debuffs in bad weather, something not often mentioned too is you will lose more planes to accidents in bad weather too. It's one of those things to be aware of but not necessarily play around

I'm not saying it's great but I think you got factory applied camo wrong because you have to remember it's 2% per tank not per division so it would be around 120% instead of 102% depending on your tank division size

liked video but I think the MIOs are awful. small bonuses annoying to interact with, SO MANY clicks added to game. and its often no brainer, just go for production ... I mostly play on 1.12 and everytime I play on 1.13 its just a headache
