Just bought the full gold, as both an investment and a fun watch to hold for a while. im sure these are going to fair better than the general watch market, they are just so cool yet so affordable comparatively to patek, vacheron and other huge names with dressy bracelet watches.

I’m a casual guy and love how these are sporty enough to wear every day but also can be dressed up. I picked up a 1986 in all steel. Love this watch!

I have a birth year two toned galbee with a brushed steel dial and gold indices. It’s not my first watch, nor my most expensive, yet I find myself wearing it almost daily and without a doubt it’s the watch I’ll be buried in. Such a timeless design. So elegant without trying too hard. It’s never out of place either. Such a versatile piece. If I could only have 1 in the collection it would be this watch.

Thank you for saying the sub is casual. So many watch-tubers consider the sub a 1 watch collection.

Yeah, because a sub can be a one watch collection. That's the whole point, it can do it all. Jeans and t-shirt, or with a suit. There's a reason so many people say it, because it's true.

I love santos but i find the current santos is so uncartier with bigger, bulkier case. Cartier suppose to be small and comfy on the wrist even for a more casual, leisure watch like Santos, it's Cartier's design language.

Cartier design is great but the contemporary Cartier horology is too often tilted toward quartz or basic movements. The current success of Cartier is making their watches ubiquitous which was not the case historically as Cartier was a smaller, high quality producer. Pre-owned specimens can be found with more credible movements but it is hard to get excited about the Richmont owned Cartier today when a high percentage of their watch volume in terms of units sold is powered by quartz movements.
