I follow over 500 channels on KZbin and the videos in this series are by far my most eagerly anticipated. You're a phenomenal artist Kyle, and your videos provide a lot of happiness to a lot of people that are struggling at the moment. Thank you

You are absolutely right. I'm a bladesmith myself but at the moment I'm homeless and sleep on the streets. I charge my phone at coffee bars to be able to have at least KZbin. My dog recently got osteoporosis. I do indeed struggle a lot and indeed Kyle's uploads are my highlight every time they are posted. Stay well brother

Kyle I wondered when I’d see the next one on this sword. It’s been a while. Good to see you back. I watch some #500+ channels as well and your one I look forward to. To the welder!

Seen a lot of comments from people complaining about how he's acting now, yet they fail to understand you're seeing days and days, sometimes a week of his time, condensed into 40mins-hour, I don't doubt he acts like this all the time and I'd say it's the editing that's changed actually, probably just to show off more of his personality, great I say, I hope the trolls stop crying one day and just let people be themselves:/🎉
@Eternal_SongbirdАй бұрын
For real. He's just a guy who really enjoys his work and having fun being a goof while doing it. Do I vibe with his jokes/sense of humour, not really, but ain't no excuse or reason for me to make a rude comment about it either. He's having fun, so who the hell am I to shame him for it? He's making works of art and that's why I watch these vids. If his personality bothers people so much, that's a them problem not his, and they should simply leave quietly instead of trying to quiet someone for who they are.

I’m reminded of the line, “I waann that.” Said with a Southern Accent by Bobby Duke Art. That’s the first time I’ve seen a sword that I really would want. It’s beautiful, even not yet finished.

I came upon this series late, but have been following it and watched some of your other videos. I’m not a bladesmith myself, but love watching it, especially Damascus patterns. Your work is AMAZING! Looking forward to the finished product. Keep being yourself and enjoying what you are doing. You are awesome, and I love seeing your family dynamics. Shows you as a person as well as the master craftsman that you are.

At 6000 rpm, the G forces on a 10' merry-go-round would be something on the order of 6,300 G. If you were somehow forced to stay on the merry-go-round, such as standing against a wall on the edge, you'd very quickly turn into a sort of gritty soup.

What would a custom made shovel using 4130 cromoly, 7075 aluminium and black vulcanised rubber( the materials used in a bmx bike ) to dig trails cost? I figure if I spend a bunch of change on a shovel I'll get back into digging trails again after my spinal injury.

Great work. Question for you, Kyle and company. How come you didn't do a feather Damascus for the the Griffin guard? I would have thought that would be very fitting with the theme to have a feathered Damascus handle with the beautiful Mosaic blade. The work still looks great, just a thought that was eating at me.

You're bar none the best knife maker on KZbin... I like that you're letting your inner nerd fly more freely in your videos lately, but it's a bit much in this one.
@maximeteppe76272 ай бұрын
yeah, I like that he's goofy, but it seems like here he's repeating jokes in case the first one isn't good enough in the edit...but the edit includes every take. Eother stop repeating the joke, or be more descening in the edit. As it is, the goofing around doesn't feel as spontaneaous, and even if it is just kyle being kyle, it's a bit to much (and I've been there as a teen when I was much more insecure... it's not a problem if people don't laugh at the joke, you'll get them on the next one, but you'll never get them by forcing the joke.)

Hi Kyle don't know if you ever accept suggestions for a build or not. I would enjoy seeing you build a copy of Orcrist from Lord of the Rings in a feather demascus pattern and a fossil walrus or mammoth tusk in the handle. With all of the Royer flares and tweeks to the demascus pattern and parts to make it a true original.
@antonioandrade4592 ай бұрын
At the start of day 39 you said that if the pattern on the guard didn't turn out like you wanted it too, you'd have thrown away the piece. Would you have actually discarded it, or kept just in case you or someone else wanted to use it on another project?

JESUS !! That's like tolerances taken to an extreme for an item designed to kill and a perfect example of how neurotic we have become since the 12th/13th centuries when they used to hammer out a sword in a couple of days that was good enough for the job. That's proper OCD.

Yeah it REALLY sucks when the ADF (auto darkening Filter) doesnt work, which is why i always instruct ppl to wear the Z87+ safety glasses under their helmet. i wouldnt recommend welding in them but it will protect you against flash burn from a momentary arc.

I love that you're putting metal fittings on the scabbard. That's something that bugs me - windlass will make metal fitted scabbards, but places like Darksword won't. I considered buying Darksword's Damascus Anduril, but it doesn't have the matching scabbard. Other companies like Albion don't bother with scabbards at all...

If your welding hood isnt working properly you should do what we do here in Turkey whilst stick welding on the street on the pavement.... Giving no warning to the pedestrians around you, take off your sunglasses, hold them just above the weld, engage your safety squint ans just go for it.
