Beautiful pattern. Ive been watching alot of these hand forged Damascus videos and your pattern is the best ive seen up till now. The delam thing sucks because that would have made a kick ass finished project. Hope you try again and make another video.

Tough break, still looks pretty cool. Cut it up, restack it with other failures, and make a new one.

I've tried firewelding once and had trouble getting two pieces of metal to stick, let alone six. Amazing result for a first try.

Thanks! This is my first try with damascus indeed but I've done a few practise pieces with mild steel and tried san mai a couple times so I had at least a little bit of experience of forge welding before making this damascus.

Nice work, beautiful pattern. Please get rid of the music; just record the shop noise as you go along, the hammer hitting your work is more beautiful than any music. No need for music, it is very distracting !

Way too many!😅 This was way too big of a billet for forging by hand without a striker. I even had to take a few 1-2 week long breaks from forging to heal my blisters. Normally I dont even get any blisters from forging.

Not what I expected when I read completely by hand, I'm used to people doing all of the grinding, sharpening, etc. without power tools, even the folding and forge welding of the layers, but still a good vid for sure
