Forging a Scorpion Bottle Opener

Hi,
this is my first video uploaded on my channel. It shows the forging process of a bottle opener in scorpionstyle. Hope you like it and if your interested in my other stuff go check out my instgram the_opeleus or facebook channel / ele.opeleus.3
PS: don´t forge a galvanized piece like I did but etch it in vinegar until it has lost it´ galvanization and then go ahead.

I love this alternate design. I would maybe have isolated the stinger end of the tail so that it could retain the scorpion's signature stinger end, but really loved watching the process and look forward to seeing more.

I know you have already made at least 50 of these but you absolutely must find a safe way to de-galvanize your stock. The yellow powder forming on your bolts is a dead give away of the presence of a zinc coating. You can burn the zinc off in a yard fire but electrolizing or dissolving it are better because they don't produce a fume thus no Metal Fume Fever. Check iForgeIron for an account of metal fume fever death. Forge on.

thats a really good point. Safety first. As I mentioned that the galvanised pieces have been stinking I checked on google and from then on I etched them in acid before forging them. The degalvanisation went smooth and the forging went much better.

Hab mir ja zuerst deine neueren Videos angesehen und muss sagen, dein Erstes gefällt mir schon sehr, aber bei deinen Neueren erkennt man schon, finde ich, eine qualitative Steigerung (sieht sich flüssiger). Mach weiter so ;)

Thank you. I buy them galvanized, so they act stainless:D But don´t forget to etch galvanized pieces before forging.

@@opeleus7271 Definitely far better without the music - it adds nothing.... The Anvil is music enough ! Except the dramatic drumming when you have finished work and display the piece at the end - that is inspired choice. Great work though, going to have a try at one myself
