I'm disabled with back injuries and make knives as a hobby when I'm up to it. Thank you so much for all your awesome videos. I would give anything to be young and healthy again and have a shop like yours. You do incredibly beautiful work and so much can be learned from your videos. I hope a lot of young men get off their phones and video games and take up blacksmithing as a result of your dedication and talent. As usual another work of art.

man you make really good swords, but you need to work on their presentation, let it sink in for two minutes or so, everybody wants to have a detailed look at this level of craft/swordsmanship(however it is called)

It looks like every time you pull the blade out to quench you are bending it while pulling out of the furnace. In many of your sword videos that caught my attention. If you would twist the blade side ways in the furnace making the edge face the ground until you put the blade in to quenching oil that would minimize the warping. Just a suggestion. Love your videos

Great work , which bladelenght and overall lenght? I have no forge, so i must grind from block... my blank has 1000*60*7 55Si7, the pomel (11SMnPb30 steel) extend the lenght 70mm, the Guard will be 16MnCr5 and of course german oak oiled. The cover of course german oak with maple inlets, brass tip, brown buffalo leather will finished 2022 :-) Style between this sword and Oakeshott XVIIIc

Great looking sword, the scabbard is built overly thick making it look oddly large. Traditionally scabbards were made as thin as possible while still protecting the sword inside, generally less than 3mm.

You make the best hilts every time but why are the blades so short? A handle and guard of that size could have 40inch blade w/ all that leverage. It wouldn’t even be a stretch to double the length of this blade I don’t think.

Bit of a late reply, but its borax. It's a flux for the forge weld, basically just gives you a bit of insurance.
