This is a stunning result. Not just for a first or a non Nepalese kurkuri. It has its flaws but the lines are there and it looks like it is made for work, not just show. Hope to see more.

Great video! I was so happy to finally find footage of someone making a kukri bolster from brass sheet that didnt look like it was filmed with a camera taped to a dog's head! I'm getting ready to try my hand at making a kukri bolster myself. Just picked up some 20ga brass. I have some silver solder and also some little railroad tie anvils at home. Ive been scouring youtube for videos showing the process, and even though you are admittedly a novice at this aspect, your video is the best ive found yet! It doesnt look like you've answered comments here in years, but if you see this and you have any tips for me, Id much appreciate it! Thanks

wow amazing, there are many types of khukuri in Nepal. Sirupate is one of kind. it has to be thin and long like sirupate...siru means slender and pate means leaf sirupate means slender leave found in hilly regions of NEPAL...so it has to be long and thin excatly the one you made...lot of people try to make khukuri "खुकुरी" but unable to match that we have in our country. this is so perfect with every details...thank you for making खुकुरी and this video...

frankly telling, blade shape is awesome! bolster was as per traditional methods made nicely. Tang punching and Topi also good. but shape of end part of handle should be more wider and exactly oval shaped funnel. that gives high power momentum while you try to cut long distance or highted branches or say beheading of charging enemy soldiers. that shape gives more comfortable yet strongly firm grip with first 3 fingers ( thumb, pointer and middle fingers)....
@MakeNCreate6 жыл бұрын
I know. Just accidentally removed a bit too much material when roughing it out with the Khukuri. Thanks mate!

great video. just thought id mention a tip for leveling off your sharpening stone., you can level it off by grinding it against the back side of a ceramic tile. use a pencil to mark the stone and grind it down until the pencil marks are gone. Makes a big difference when sharpening.
