Beautiful adze! One of my favorite things to forge and the reason I got into blacksmithing! By the way, you probably know this already but there’s a huge market for adzes….possibly more so than axes

Nils as an apprentice in a British shipyard in the 1970s we were taught how to use a mast using an adze the adze we used had the grind on the inside of the curve of th blade a traditional tool of the shipwrights at 16 I was taught how to make a mast using an adze and spoke shave the haft was a lot longer as it was used standing over the work piece and swung between your feet a little scary at first 🙂

from the way that thing looks it could even be used to trench out a garden, i never like hoes i found them to be to wide and not angled right . but that thing would make for different hole depts and great spacing between each row. great universal tool.

0:10 Can you keep the hole you're punching from pushing the material outward by setting up blocks on each side that would push it lengthwise? I don't know since I've never seen it done. 1:32 What do you call this single-bevel hammer? I want to see how this adze cuts! Do people use any forest adze hoes where you live? I found a very old one in a field with a 6" wide blade over 30 years ago. I cleaned it up and put a strong splitting maul handle on it. It's my favorite digging tool for hard ground.

The single bevel things is a set down tool. Designed only for making set downs at the transition from eye to blade. Regarding your first question, perhaps you could but to me its not an issue. I forge it back later

I noticed this downward tip at the back of the head on quite a few of your tools. Does it serve any purpose like extra stabilisation , or is it more like a personal design feature of yours?
