everything is simple and that is its practicality... I once made similar ones too.. if you shoot at hard wood, the arrows will crack and break.. you have to shoot at a soft target.. my father taught me as a child how to make arrowheads from tin cans by twisting the metal into a cone.. it also turned out super simple and practical 👍

During the Three Kingdoms Period and Goryeo Dynasty, Koreans on the Korean Peninsula were called the "people of the bow." The bow is called the "gukgung," flying at least 200 m to hit the target and fighting against neighboring countries who invaded with gunpowder such as Aegisal and Hwacha! The reason why Korea is good at archery is because it inherited the tradition of its ancestors, who called it the "people of the bow," and through the driving force training, they are good at archery!!

2:07 rebar isn't high-carbon steel, quenching doesn't really add anything. But still, great video! Great idea to use scrap rebar to get the necessary thickness of the steel for the socket without paying for bar stock

You can put it in case full with carbon and quench. Its called cementing iirc. Or if you use coal forge u still add some carbon

Most structural rebar is mid carbon so it does harden but not as nicely as HC

That's pretty cool. I was thinking it was going be hard to do the fletchings when I thought about making arrows because I haven't came up with the idea to use tape. It works perfectly for homemade arrows. I love how you also used mainly tools that most people have already available in their garages. Nicely done. I have to make myself some arrows sometime next summer. P.s. That's some real skill shooting an arrow into an arrow.

Booking points were originally developed by Welsh and English longbowmen to pierce plate Armour It was a narrow tapered point based on a square. behind its thickest part the point was scalloped onall sides , and rose to a thicker size as it rounded off to form the ferrule to fit the shift. The idea being that, the narrow point pierced the plate, which it usually did puncturing a small hole with, as it passed through the hole was relieved as it reached the scalloped area. Thus maintaining speed and momentum so that the following broader rear section punched a larger hole peeling the plate, and creating a larger hole for the rest of the shift to pass through. When Henry VIII's flagship Mary Rose was discovered, thousands of arrows were found with bodkin points and longbow with a 150 pound draw.

They weren’t very good and getting though plate mail. Most other armor types they would punch right though. Watch Todd cutler he has a really good video useing an English long bow at 130lbs draw weight with bodkins and they barley dented the plate armor

I do not know what the carbon content and other components in steel for fittings in your country are. But I think it's about the same all over the world. Therefore, I do not understand why the heat treatment was needed. The hardness there has been added to exactly 0

Tips look cool and a good idea. But why make such cool tips only to chince out on the rest of the arrow. Use real feathers, its not hard. Also, your gona want to wrap your nocks between the base of the nock and the fletching or the arrows will split. Unless you bow has a very light draw weight, like 25 pounds or less. In which case get a heavier bow cuz that light wont kill anything if you were to hunt with it.
