ooo for some reason I am so interested in discussing the notion of “fake” people 1) what makes a person fake? how do we define it? 2) are they knowingly being deceptive or is this behavior done unintentionally? 3) is fakeness a fault of toxic behaviors being learned while growing up or are people innately born with it? 4) can people change, truly? from fake to genuine and vice versa? 5) should fake people be sympathized for or viewed in disdain? my sister and I were discussing this topic a week ago. I personally like to give people the benefit of the doubt and assume that “fakeness” is a sign that someone has some growing up to do, and I like to believe that people can change. then again, I don’t disagree that there are some individuals who just enjoy being evil for the sake of being evil, but I’m pretty sure they’re in the minority! the questions above are super subjective and most can probably be answered with “it depends on the context” and “it’s a spectrum”, but I really enjoy hearing people’s thoughts on this subject rn

Fakeness is generally insincerity and dishonesty. when it is used maliciously, it is being passive aggressive. These types of people are usually miserable, and want everyone else to be as miserable as they are. Fakeness without malicious intent could be a general desire to impress others, usually out of insecurity (such as pretending to be more important than they really are). People choose how to express themselves unless there is some underlying psychological issue (such as sociopathy).

hey yeah its pretty much subjective for sure heh. the origins of fakeness are different from one person to the next. I mean i guess the most important thing to do is forgive and let go

This was an interesting take on an unfortunate reality most of us go through in life. Your perspective gave me food for thought JB.

You are right. The spiritual world is the most important. And there are different realitys. Sometimes somebody does a mean thing but at the moment of the decision he's not aware of it. And in the aftermath he regrets it and feel ashamed and guilty. Like your thoughts and your energy I feel. I thnik we don't live near each other. What a pity. Otherwise I would have invited you to dinner.
