Hello! My name is Emily and I own my own business, Emii Creations, selling and designing merchandise and art for sale. My retail business started in 2018 and I mainly go to conventions, local shows, sell online, and sell wholesale to retails stores all over the country. I also have a small consignment partner in Taiwan in case you see my stuff there!
Before Emii Creations I worked in the gaming/VFX industry for companies like Riot Games and Luma Pictures as a Pipeline TD/TA (lots of coding). You can find my credits on movies like Captain America: Civil War, Antman, and Dr. Strange. Although the VFX/Gaming world was so much fun, my dream has always been converting my side hustle into my full-time job and I'm so happy it's working out!

I really appreciate the breakdown of this!! I live in CT so I could take a train down if I ever wanted to do this. I don’t think the prices are terrible considering some tables can be 800 plus dollars!!

So if I require a hand cart I can't go through the main entrance myself? I would have to pay extra for the loading dock?

Some cons are really strict and some are not as so I can’t say for sure. But you may be stopped with a hard cart because more labor unions don’t allow it. But I advise something like suitcases instead. For this show I honestly don’t remember their exact regulation cause we did the suitcase route. But you can also find details in the exhibitor manual which is 100% always tell ppl to read through. Sorry if this wasn’t an exact answer!

Thanks for the response. This helps a lot. Sadly I didn't get accepted this year. I applied at 9am when it first opened up for an unlimited table and I guess over 1000 people applied. Didn't make the cut. Maybe next year.@@EmiiCreations

What size are your pvc pipes? Never thought of putting them up like that. Thank God you showed your preping cuz I was wondering how to prop up my shirts for more table space.

They’re 3/4in diameter and I have a pvc pipe cutter so I just cut them down to the sizes that fit both my suitcase and table size.

Thanks for this video! What do you think about artists that don't do anime/manga art - do they stand a chance to make good money at this con? I do fantasy art and offer gaming playmats as one of my main product lines. I've got some artist buddies that say I might do okay, but I have doubts lol...

This one is more of an anime con in my opinion. There are cons that center more on fantasy and gaming out there like gen con and lvl up expo. But if you’re local it may still be worth to try it out in the Artist alley section since it would then be pretty low in cost. But traveling maybe not as advised. I actually also think comic cons do better with fantasy art vs anime cons. So Wondercon, dragon con, emerald city comic con, nycc, and c2e2. Hope that helps!

Kinda confusing, bc as both an attendee and looking through your footage, so many people are not doing the 30% fanart rule

@@MsMvsc Otakon is a littler weirder where they have three different artist alley spaces. Only the one-table spaces have regulations regarding fanart. The bigger spaces like I have in the front where we get basically a 10x10 space do not have this restriction. Tbh not sure why it’s setup like that but I hope that helps explain it!
