Forgotten 1964 Sikkim Border Crisis showed India was getting spine back after defeat in China war

Less than two years after the war of 1962, China began pushing troops into Sikkim - then an independent country, protected by India - and held out threats of conflict. Then, just-defeated India did something no one expected: It held its ground. This would lead to a spiral of region-shaping consequences, ending with Sikkim being merged with India a decade later.

However, in order to appease the Indian people, the Indian government actually beautified this conflict into a "great victory", exaggerated the number of Chinese casualties, and promoted it domestically. Because the Chinese side did not enter the Indian territory near New Delhi this time, the Indians did not know how the battle was fought, so they believed the government's lies. Anyway, the Congress Party achieved its goal of using the conflict to strengthen its position. Behind the scenes, the Indian army has since become more aware of the depth of China's strength. In the 20 years since this time, the Indian army has never taken the initiative to provoke on a large scale on the border again.

Sikkim was first flooded by migrants from Nepal. Then after making the indigenous Sikkimese such as Bhutias and Lepchas into miniorities, India gobbled up Sikkim. India is not on very strong grounds here.

Bharat was known as Ajnab khand , detached from gondawana and dashed with Laurasia created Himalaya and Tibet plateau. That never existed prior to the his event. China was far away in south east. Tibet can never be chinese. Chinese intervation in these regions is illegal that global community must understand and take step forward to release tibet from chinese control. As well other regions so they can exercise their practices fearlessly in public.

The question shouldn't be of spine, when each country is busy taking care of improving productivity and progress. So china should instead worry about what's impeding it's progress, with some wrong choices and manmade blunders, in the field of biological sciences/ bio chemistry. Secondly, it should try improve the basic fundamental rights of its citizens, before infringing on other's borders.🙏

Now, China is happy with the current government, because any incursion that the Chinese perform, would be accounted under Nehru, giving them a better hold on the occupied territories. BJP when it came to power in 1998, tested the neuclear bomb, that was already in the arsenal, and started to reduce the defence spending. This apart from the mindless shuffling of officers in Kargil gave the Pakistanis the perfect opportunity to plan an incursion in Kargil.
