An excellent series on the 1965 War Mr Swamy. There are many lessons that can be learnt by students of military history from the 1965 war but the topmost lesson is that those who accept their mistakes and learn from them ultimately triumph. Those who brush their problems under the carpet ask for greater trouble in the future. One good thing is that our military historians from those decades could be so objective and forthright in their battle assesments.

So they thought this was a trap and stopped the attack for a few days. This gave pakistan time to regroup and establish defense. And no PAF is no better than IAF in every engagement. IAF losses were higher than PAF in 1965 war because IAF flew more combat sorties than PAF and based on its sortie rate, it had a lower attrition rate than PAF despite using inferior aircraft compared to more modern starfighter than PAF had.

In 1965 Indian Airforce was decimated in the Air and ground and Indian navy didn't even dare to challenge the Pak Navy during the entire war leaving the Indian Army without the Air and sea cover and that's when Lal shastri ran to Russia for a a ceasefire and later died on a negotiating table. In 1999 kargill war , vajpayee didn't run to clinton but called him to make complaints about Pakistani intrusion thus turning our military victory Into a political defeat. Recently our best friend China once again won a war just by using shoes , stones , bricks , sticks and kicks but this time not Russia and not America came to help India. It's something, if in the middle of the war, senior officers can feel complacent. War is a life and death matter, for those who fight. Perhaps, communication was the problem both in the Pakistan and Indian Army, because they didn't have adequate means to do so. Compare the 1965 War to the Kargil War. The assessment of how the Indian Army fought that war wasn't negative at all. A lot of misunderstandings happen on the battlefield due to bad communication. Those Indian Army commanders who felt complacent, perhaps thought that in the prevailing situations then, our soldiers would fight better. There doesn't seem to have been any complacency in the Bangladesh War, or in the Kargil War.

I appreciate the sincerity and diligence with which you present the content, however please consider my objective feedback hereunder- 1. You tend to focus on too many things when telling a story, thereby limiting your ability to do justice to any single event/battle of the war. Case in point the video’s begins with a juicy snippet about the graveyard of Pakistani Patton tanks at the outset but barely even touches upon the details of the battle. 2. You metaphorically teleport from one battlefield of war to another citing bridges and canals in your recitation of war records with little regard for the ability of the viewers to follow your lead. You should do so only when supported by some graphics (either actual maps or representative animations) to provide more context of what you’re verbalising, otherwise you risk losing your audience. 3. Your focus seems more on the richness of language than fluency and continuity of storytelling. I respect your prowess over the English vocabulary but that doesn’t necessarily make for an engaging story telling from a listener’s POV. 4. You seem to read a lot from paper which makes you loose visual contact with the viewers, thereby interrupting engagement. And while I’m convinced you’re reading from research done and compiled by nobody else but you, it looks less well planned as you shuffle through sheets of paper. I implore you to use a teleprompter! Hope you find this worth considering.

Indian troops are excellent but unfortunately are led by very poor quality of officers. These officers join the army , not because they are interested in a military career but because of all the perks the military offers. Subsidised plots and housing , subsidised canteen facilities and a host of other perks. Most times there is little chance they will have to fight a war in their lives.
@rudrakshsinghkatal56092 жыл бұрын
I don't agree with this at all. Indian officers are probably one of the most well trained in the world. As for joining the military is concerned , there is a competitive exam and SSB, SSB effectively screens out men who are not fit or not indoctrinated to serve the nation. I don't know the logic behind your argument but it's unproven and unfactual at best My dad served in army from 1969-1995 , the quality of forces and officers has always been high and mutual comeptence between officers is the Foundation of a strong military culture , which has existed in our army since the 60s when we first completed our military reforms The facilties you have mentioned are given to military personnel because they deserve it. Surely you deserve those if you've served for 6 months in siachen three times in your career as an infantry officer. And there is no facility of discounted military plots as you've mentioned. You're confusing DHA of Pakistan army with indian army. Indian army has no equivalent of DHA, very poorly written and researched indeed. I am not jealous of the facilities they get , I don't need them , I live a good life in the US. When I lived in India , our family had a major construction company so I did not need discounted canteen prices for my needs.

nice analysis , but the graphics representing troop movement could have been better, this is not the correct way to represent a war situation.

The fact that Mr Swami had to propagate official Indian version regarding role of PAF shows how badly IAF was outperformed/Mauled by PAF, but then Swami is the same chap who published the Shahzabuddin BS story, which he ultimately had to retract with egg on his face. Bottomline PAF performed brilliantly against IAF.

HAHA KASHMIR IS STILL WITH INDIA.. EVER HEARD OF HAJI PIR PASS?
@pkmkb0072 жыл бұрын
Yeah PAF is known for its lies. They claimed in 65 that its one pilot Alam shot down 5 Indian jets in 30 seconds but they were never able to prove that, maybe only proved in hollywood movies. Similarly in balakot incident they claimed to capture 2 indian pilots and shot down Su30 but neither they could show the 2nd pilot or proof of shooting down Su30. Later US department of defense also caught their lie of never counting F16's.

Had the war dragged for a week more, Pakistan would have collapsed. Pakistan's arms and ammunition reserves were critically low while India had 80% of its reserves intact.

on september 7,1965 Pakistan Airforce attacked forward Indian Airoforce bases and destroyed many planes and bases like halwara , amritsir , adampur and pathankot were destroyed. Pathankot airbase was completely destroyed and lost 22 aircraft on the ground. In 1965 Pakistan Airforce jets like F.86 and F.104 were equipped with night fighting capability , missiles and were super sonic and none of the IAF jets were equipped with these capabilites thus IAF was no match for the PAF . Two IAF jets also landed and surrendered with thier working jets. one knat and one mystere. one of the pilot was brijpaul who became the IAF chief after. In the sea Indian navy didnt even dare to challenge any Pak navy ships . Indian navy was scared of Pakistani submarine . India used world war two era tanks and thier shells were not strong enough to penetrate patton tanks . however Patton tanks targetted with more powerful guns and destroyed number of Old Indian tanks like it was another practice day for them. IAF jets were fallling of the sky like flies and Indian navy decided not die like fish so many Indian navy ships didnt even leave their docks even when dwarka naval station was under attack. we won 1965 and without the Indian Aircover and the navy support , Pakistan Airforce could cause more damage to the Indian army if Lal Bahadri didnt run to Russia 😂🤣😅_

do Pakistani and Indians have the same genetics? In online games I can never tell the difference when they speak, same, or very similar accent.
@asangha1822 жыл бұрын
Yes, genetically they are from the same racial stock,although Pakistanis would like to present themselves as 'those that are not Indian'. Pakistan was carved out of India in 1947,so obviously they are the same. Depending on the mood and season, they like to claim Arab, Turkic, Mughal, etc. ancestry, anything to prove to themselves they are not Indian. And we speak the same language, which they call Urdu and Indians call Hindi. Either way, Urdu is an Indian language. What most in Northern India and most of Pakistan speak is actually Hindustani, a mixture of Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Farsi words. Both have their regional languages as well, but the common language is Hindustani.

@@asangha182 Sir Pakistan was not carved out of so-called "Rep Of India" but rather from "British India" and folk do not claim to be Arabs, Turks or Persians this is your misconception BTW even the folk of so-called "Rep Of India" are not one and the same let alone the same as Pakistanis, it is true that there are similarities in adjacent areas ie Lahore and Amritisar will share a great deal but not with Tamils, Biharis, Madrasis Orissans etc, AND only some of us speak the same languages and i am not talking of the British imposed Lucknowi language which was alien to the historical Indus Basin.Regards
