Part 2 of 2: This 1970 Evinrude Skeeter Snowmobile is beggin' to be put back in the snow. What started off as a quick "let's get it run and bang some ditches", got a little sidetracked with a budget refresh. This machine ended up looking, and running great! Watch it come back to live!

I love looking back and watching older VGG videos. Its truly amazing to see how You Tube changed the trajectory of this feller's life. You can really get a good sense of what a good'ol boy Dereck is, and how wholesome the Bieri family really is. It's heart warming to see Bentley at a younger age wrenching with his dad, and to see the little feller today on more recent content. So happy for your success Derek, Keep up the great work sir!

For wear rods, make your own. Use 3/8" steel round stock and weld a 3/8" stud to it using the old ones for a pattern or weld fresh 3/8 round stock to the old worn out rods. It will be taller and steer better. Heat it until cherry red and quench with oil. They will last much better than oem.

Hot rolled steel is the harder, unless u are going to spend the extra bucks for special heat treated! Was into that snowmobiling pretty heavy from 60’s to the 90’s or so. Great times were had by many thousands back till about 80’s in northern MN. I AM 83 now and still have three sleds, 91 wild Cat, 86 Polaris 600 Le Special modified. A lot better running Evinrude than the one I had back in he 90's. I picked one up from my girlfriends grand parents. It had been setting probably 15 years. I was able to get it running and rode it around one winter, then the track shredded apart. Mine was more of a round front end. Mine also had reverse which was a great feature...... Good to see these old sleds getting some love..... I just looked it up, mine was a 1971 Bobcat.

When this Floridian (who had never seen snow) got stationed up in Baudette, MN in 1985, I bought a mint 1970 Johnson Skee Horse from a neighbor for $500. That was the first of many snowmobiles I owned from 1985 until I started spending winters back "home" in Florida 8 years ago and was probably the most enjoyed snowmobile of them all. Derek, 3 things: (1) It is great to see a young guy take the time and make the effort to bring something old back to life that a lot of folks around just scrap. (2) It’s sure nice to see the little Vice Grip out wrenching in the Garage with Dad; those memories will last a lifetime. (3) As far as the wear plates go, you could just fabricate your own OR you could take the old ones and build them up with the welder and grind them flat. (just a thought) Keep up the good work, and May you and yours continue to stay SAFE ‼️

That’s a keeper opposed cylinders wow. Great Job I’d love to own that. My very fist sled was 72 bombardier 1 lunger. I think I was 10 and my dad would flip when I would stall it because I couldn’t pull it over He would have to trudge down the field and pull it over. Then he would curse it all the way back to the house. He Hated that thing. Lol 😂.

Our church group thought our youth group could handle an afternoon of sledding. They were so excited that no one listened to Ken... the 2 polaris colts hit head on in an open field... freaked out & held the throttle. Thank heavens for deep snow! We ended up rolling down a fun little obstical track & solved the freestyle problems lol. I can only imagine if they had acess to our the newer sleds! We hosted alot of winter retreats at the Cabin & taught all our children. We love to snowmobile.... I own 11 or so & I'm either the first or second owner on all but one... 3rd. Newest is a 21
