This video was awesome. I used to have a 1975 F250 Ranger in the same 4 door, long bed, 2wd configuration back in 2007. Mine had a C6 and a 460 with 91k original miles. Only 2 pinhole rust spots on the tailgate, but none anywhere else. I found it sitting in a field with a bed full of trash and paid $1,600 for it on the spot. It must have died on me 30 times in the 50 miles home. Some new brakes, a new fuel system from tanks to carb and it ran a whole lot better. Unfortunately, gas hit $4.50 a gallon, and that thing averaged 6mpg so it had to go. I regret it to this day. Closing the doors on it sounded solid and tight, just like a new car door. Such a solid truck. This video brought back some good memories. Thanks for the great content!

If I could work on trucks, I would totally turn a long bed version of a truck like this one into a retro meets modern super luxury SUV....basically, it would be kind of like a 1960s, or 1970s, interpretation of a 2000s Ford Excursion.

KS was the good 'ol Kelly Springfield company, which primarily made tires and was owned by Goodyear. I grew up around the plant outside of Freeport, IL.. well I have a 1989 Ford XLT Lariat and I am the third owner and this truck has never died on me once and it can haul a ton not just a half ton and I have done it over and over. The 5.0 Liter V8 has 160,000 miles on it and the engine has never been worked on. My truck has been the most reliable vehicle I have owned. So never look down your nose at a Ford truck because some one left it to rot in a field for 21 years. Those of us who take care of our trucks never have a problem its only when they are neglected do you have problems.

Memories of driving to help a friend bring an old Rover back to life are coming back to me. The motor was stuck, so he filled the bores with a pb type oil and needed to leave it soak "What now?" "We polish it" "What? Why?" "You've met your wife. If the oil doesn't work, at least it won't look like trash and she will have less to complain about" 🤣🤣🤣 3 weeks later, it was doing 95 mph on that engine down the motorway. Great car.

You can pull a plug out and stick a tape ruler down in the plug hole and turn it over and actually measure the amount of stroke to see if it’s a 360 or a 390 and the difference is 3 1/2” or 3 7/8” stroke.

My friends dad had an early 80s ford that we all called the cowboy caddy... it was not only a a 4 door but it was a 3rd party conversion company built truck so it had what I'd call an extended cab 4 door kinda like a dodge mega cab but a bit bigger where it had an extra 3rd row seat in it and the 2nd seat could fold down where it touched the back seat for a spot to sleep... I assume it was purpose built for rodeo life but the man was supposed to go buy a family vehicle for all 8 or 9 of his kids and instead of getting a van like his wife wanted he came home with the truck... 4x4 short bed with the custom cab and a turbo diesel engine flat bed and it was still in really nice shape last I saw it... of course the old man unfortunately passed away in the last year but I'm sure one of the kids still has the old truck... definitely be worth some money to the right person but the centimental value is priceless even to me with the few memories I have of the truck myself...
