I feel like she got tossed aside as well. If you werent the "next MaryLou" it was on to the next unfortunately . The fat shaming is absurd.. she is more powerful with her extra muscle ! Look at her tumbling. It is very sad the sacrifices that are made by so many for a just moment in time , inthe spot light. Thank you for making these.

I know. Marta and Bela were so strict about body type and training they burned gymnasts out. She looked very unhealthy by the end of her career, and seemed to run out of love for the sport. Just because she had one bad competition, likely due to fatigue, injury, and being underweight, doesn’t mean she should’ve been cast aside like she was.

I saw the 1988 Nationals and Kristie was underscored. I feel she was already a target to be eliminated from making the Olympic at the National. She should have been on the team.
