U should do one on Mahmoud Abdul Rauf. I’ve heard some stories about him from people I know but he didn’t last in the NBA long either like Craig did due to his outspokenness. Respect to Craig for standing up for his own beliefs and I understand sports and politics don’t mix but hey at the end of the day, you’re a human being when the game is over.

Salute to Craig Hodges for standing up and speaking up for our people ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾 I Still rock with and support his campaign. Yeah it was dirty how the league did him. That letter he gave President Bush was a bold move along with asking asking MJ and Magic to boycott the finials. On the court, his jumper was butter, His 3 point contest victories confim that fact. he hit some clutch shots during those two championship runs with the Bulls.... Thanks for doing a video on him.... side note he also helped start off R. KELLY music career.

2KTV talked about this last year of the year before so I learned the basics of Craig Hodges's story. This video was definitely needed, the details brought up. Well done. It seems atleast back in those days athletes, atleast coloured ones, were just expected to 'shut up and play their game' and not get involved with politics. Hodges and Abdul-Rauf thought different and acted. I like to think the world is better because of that even though both of them were pretty much forced out of the league. The world wasn't ready for what they had to say in the 90s...

Maybe If Hodges would have co-authored a book or done something highly public to establish his reputation and his position before the White House visit I think it could have gone smoother with his career. I think it just kind of felt to people like he was last minute trying to hijack the platform. I like what he was representing but it seems like he was just surprising people with seemingly spontaneous activism. Like if he had been working with Bill Russell and Kareem and some others on some kind of high profile activism for a couple of years before being invited to the White House I think someone would have prepared the president for his positions on matters, Jordan probably wouldn't have called him crazy, Magic might have wanted to know more about a coherent plan, and he probably would have played in the league a few more years. Knowing right from wrong is not the same as knowing how to do things. 💚

Can you please do a video on Donyell Marshall? He was considered a bust until redeeming himself later in his career.
@grahamgreene7792 ай бұрын
dude was an amazing shooter and way ahead of his time vis a vis social issues and how professional athletes might be able to leverage their position to not necessarily affect change, because I think that overstating it, but to at least be a voice for those who need it. That said, to say he was blackballed at the end of his career is just to ignore the facts on the ground. Over 30 (in the early 90's when 30 meant something) getting injured more consistently, and his efficiency was suffering. Paxon and Armstrong were better guards, period. And while both might not have been as great a shooter as Hodges, they did a variety of things better than him and both could shoot it. People hardly took any 3's compared to today but Paxton was 35% career and Bj was .425 career.
