With all due respect to those world renowned poets throughout history.This incredibly talented artist could very well be the greatest poet of all time. Then when you put those poems to music with a silky voice that is always on key, My God, some of those ballads can easily move you to tears.

Every note perfection but more than that the story is delivered with hurt pain and passion. The voice a rare aged premium scotch a silky wine a symphonic waterfall spilling into your soul, a voice forged by God mellowed by heartbreak loss love and regret. We’ve all come to our own fork in the road agonizing to keep that love or let them go. Perfection is indeed the lessons of regrets and that is what Smokey delivers.

A voice that seduces teases and promises agony and ecstasy. Brilliantly sad but yet offering hope romance and promises. Lyrical Rembrandt transcends fads vogue and time. In an age dominated by spectacle trends and marketing the genius of Smokey silently roars through the clutter.

*THE MIRACLES* set the *STANDARD* and the *PATTERN* for all of the first-tenor-led groups that followed them, both IN and OUT of Motown. The Temptations, Delfonics, Stylistics, Chi-Lites, Blue Magic, and numerous others...all need to pay tribute to the six young kids from Detroit who changed the world of music forever: *SMOKEY ROBINSON, CLAUDETTE ROGERS-ROBINSON, BOBBY ROGERS, PETE MOORE, RONNIE WHITE,and MARV TARPLIN*. In the music of ALL of these groups, and numerous others, you can still hear the influence of *The Miraculous MIRACLES!!!* *The MIRACLES* were also the SPARK that caused the worldwide explosion known as MOTOWN !! And just IMAGINE just what the World of Music (and in general) would have been like today if Motown had NEVER EXISTED.

This performance captures Smokey’s consistency and expression of love defines the decisions we make or not make in relationships. Smokey is telling us love relationships are for adults, love is not a kiddy game. When you take that road at the fork, that choice may be your only opportunity to do it right. Love is not a kiddy game or for the immature adult. By the way, Smokey, Pete Moore, and Ronnie White wrote ‘Fork in the Road’ in 1965, very heavy brother. This song was the backside of “Tracks of My Tears”. By the way, where can I a buy a copy of this live rendition? I just found it. The live version of ‘Fork in the Road” is in the 2 - CD set entitled “Going to A Go - Go/Away We A Go Go”.

Yes, and well-expressed. And sometimes we can only perceive that truth only through retrospection. I love "smoky" ballads and Smokey and the Miracles defined that genre. As a young girl growing up I didn't understand and comprehend the meaning but I sensed the passion in the song.
@williamg25525 жыл бұрын
This song was WRITTEN by THREE of THE MIRACLES, *Smokey Robinson, Pete Moore, and Ronnie White*. And they *ALL* recorded it . Not Robinson alone. I have NO IDEA why people today are continuously trying to play the role of *HISTORY REVISIONIST* , by giving credit for *The MIRACLES*' songs SOLELY to SMOKEY, as if the MIRACLES Vocal Group NEVER EXISTED...and Smokey was always a SOLO artist. What an INSULT to *MOTOWN'S FIRST GROUP* . It' is this SAME biased, incorrect thinking that caused *The 1987 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Controversy!!!!* en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Miracles en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Miracles#The_1987_Rock_and_Roll_Hall_of_Fame_controversy

I love the music and I respect them, because unlike all the other Motown groups, like the Supremes, the Temptations, etc. the MIRACLES were the ONLY ones that wrote their own material.
