Wow. This is gold. Smokey and the Miracles. The precursor to all of the pretty singing groups of the 70's: The Moments, Blue Magic, The Stylists, Enchantment, The Dramatics, The Delfonics, et. al.
@steviebee33311 ай бұрын
Dam, I wanna argue with you, but I'm not sure that I can becuase the Delfonics and the the Moments is the shit alone, that's almost saying, if it wasn't for Smokey and Miracles, there wouldn't have been those groups. I don't think we can make that assertion.

@stevietatum5501 Every talented singer was influenced by some great singer that proceeded them. Their singing style becomes an amalgamation of their influences and their natural abilities. Greatness begets greatness. Nothing to argue there.

I think Smokey & Miracles were influenced by the Platters. I believe Smokey did influence all those plus some. Motown was the juganaut that propelled the movement. Record deals became more lucrative and sprung up all over the country. People saw what was happening at jumped at the chance to make money

@@steviebee333 Smokey was the inspiration for all of the great falsettos singers of the 70's and 80's.

I was in 3rd grade when this new girl came into my class, and I couldn't stop staring at her, her name was Joann Williams! I listen to this song all night thinking of her! The next day it started all over again the Staring, she stuck out her tongue at me and said what are you looking at, and stop looking at me, but I had this crush! I didn't know she had many brothers and she told them I was picking on her! Well three of them beat me up really good! But I still had that crush! Many years later her and I got the chance to talk about my crush on her, and she said she didn't know, so that’s why you were staring so much, she told me that was so sweet of you, and I got you beat up! So we started dating and made out listening to this song , so it's a special one for me! Philly Cool World Valley!

They all have on 'High Collar' shirts that was the fad in the 1960s, I remember begging my father for money to buy one and how happy I was when he gave me the money. You can't beat their music.

Nothing like 60s slow Motown music. Especially anything written and sung by Smokey. Simply the best!!
@Chewie31610 ай бұрын
Magnificent. Slightly slower than the recording and with the live band hitting like crack. Smokey is the G.O.A.T.

ain't he though for real, the architect of soul, he wrote songs for the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Jackson 5. Who has done covers of his songs....the Beatles, the Stones, Jackson 5. I have been singing his songs loud for four decades. Can't touch Smokey, pioneer.

Great song, by a great group of musical artists. The smoothness never ends, with their great "sound style". Great ballad and classic sounds from them is as good as it gets.

One of their few live tv performances where can you can hear the background vocals clearly. I don’t know if they purposely turned the mikes down to showcase Smokey’s lead or what, but on there early television appearances you can barely hear the background vocals, if at all
