@@redmamba4695Absolutely! It’s not as hard as you think. There is a lot of multitasking involved with forklifts because you have to operate the levers as you’re driving. But it’s not bad at all and fun if you’re into that kind of stuff.

I'm going to obtain my license for it but I'm at a disadvantage from the other guys who are already working with forklifts in their jobs. By watching your videos gave me a lot of understanding and insight on using it. Hoping to pass the test and getting that job I'm trying to obtain to survive. That third gas forklift with a "clutch" is like a clutch but called an Inching Pedal. It works like a clutch and a brake combined (if it is connected to the brake pedal too so first its disengages drive then more pressure and it applies brakes) so that you can rev the engine while in gear to make the hydraulics go faster (like lifting the load onto a truck) but bypasses the power to the drive wheels so you can rev the engine to make the loading much faster WITHOUT driving the forklift faster. It disengages drive and engages brake (if it is a dual action) so you can quickly raise the hydraulics to lift a load up without also driving faster. Its safer and easier to keep your fork load low to the ground until you put it on the truck or racking, and this pedal means you don't have to take it out of drive to rev the engine to speed up loading. Without it, you can't rev the engine in forward gear or else you speed up so this makes loading so much easier and faster.

I use the third pedal all the time it is great, especially with our lift it does not like running too good in the cold mornings and full turns or tilts instantly stalls her unless you Rev it with the clutch.

The Toyota Tonero 18 I drive at work has a clutch, and I use it all the time. It's the brake pedal that I never use. The clutch allows me to let the truck roll forward, which is useful for going round corners without needing to brake. The clutch is also always used when raising the forks. As any driver probably knows, the clutch is used to disconnect engine drive from the wheels. In a forklift this allows you to apply gas to the forks for quicker raising, without drive being applied to the wheels simultaneously. Without the clutch, I would have to bring the truck to a complete stop and apply the handbrake every time I wanted to raise the forks or put the truck into neutral, which, while safer, and is to industry standard - is not productive at all, and would likely get you fired for being too slow. The clutch is key to fast and productive workflow on a gas powered truck.

I would have to disagree with you Joe about the clutch pedal on the LP unit as it is also a brake, sort of like older tractors and lawn tractors with one clutch brake which is the ONLY brake pedal. If you're in a hurry like most lift drivers will be at times, you'll always use that clutch/brake and never use the center pedal. You will always use engine RPMs to raise your mast faster, and slip clutching while you switch your shift lever to the opposite direction of travel while you're moving. I'd really like to know if the single wide brake pedal on that other unit actually clutches as well as it is made to use with either the left or right foot. They also call it the "inching" pedal. 🤘

Good videos. I wish they were more consistent though. So, I'm certified and I seem to remember something about with the propane forklifts, unlike the electric ones, you have to be in neutral to move the forks at all and are required to use the accelerator to move the forks along with the handles. Can you speak/make a video on that that is more indepth? Also, and this is a huge one that I'm not seeing anyone talk about. The principles seem quite easy, but I found in my 30 minutes actually operating a forklift, I found it very hard to see where the heck the forks are; angle of tilt, getting the forks into the pallet and clearance. What should an operator look for to see these things? All I saw was a huge block of metal obstructing my view and I find that's the harding thing to overcome. Thank you for your reply in advance.

You can use the clutch when you're lifting something up high so you can give gas for more lift speed without going into neutral. Then you don't have to wait like 30 seconds to get all the way up to the top racks. Good video though. Don't be afraid to get forklift certified people, there's some good paying jobs and its honestly easier than driving a car you will get the hang of it in no time.

Hi Mr. Josh, can you do some videos showing how one would get in started up on each of the different ones showing how you would pick up a load reverse and going back in the last five that you showed I think that would help out a lot. Can you also do a video showing the pros and cons of being a forklift? versus a high low driver?. What is the starting pay? What things should we better prepare for as women when driving each of the five if we ever got a job what things should we know in advance. To drive going forth to drive backwards to drive in neutral when picking up and which ones are less dangerous? 🙋🏻‍♀️😇😉 I would love for you to do a video and tell me when you might be able to do this. I think as women we all need to learn this I'm thinking about taking this up since it's a one-day class seems simple enough.

Can you also do a video on the different stand up high low or forklift showing people the different gadgets that they need to use.? Can you do a video that lets people know what should be the standard going rate in terms of pay. I'm in Michigan and I see companies starting as low as 11 to 13 an hour. And then they make it seem that they're doing you a favor if they pay you 15 ,16 dollars an hour. 👎🏼🥴🤷🏼‍♀️😒😤 What are some of the do's and don'ts when you are in a stand-up forklift what is the difference of the gas powered versus electric?? Thank you for doing these videos 😇🙋🏻‍♀️👌🏼🥰🎊😎🍷💯‼️
