A short film on Pipeline.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this project. It took many different shapes over the years to get to where it is now. It was originally started in December 2017 as a film that focused more on a group of friends who grew up learning to surf Pipeline. Through different creative rounds, and a couple years on the shelf, it eventually evolved into an idea that followed the imagined point of view of Pipeline, with a perspective narrated by local musician Paula Fuga. It was a fun challenge to create a visual history of the wave, but this is not meant to be a complete story. There are too many people to name who have become a part of Pipeline's history over the years; they could never be fit into one short film. Thank you again to everyone who helped us put this together. The project is dedicated to Derek Ho, and those like him who have dedicated their life to surfing Pipeline.

@@foresthealing7907 I hear what you are saying about the corporate aspect, but to he fair JJF walked on a huge amount of money for the right reasons, I think it was the remaining 12 of 30 million, but that is still almost half and not a move many would make. So yes the corportization of surfing and the endless hordes of wavestorms are a bummer but there was not air in this video and it wasn't produced by Hurley, not to mention the kind of underlying message was respect to the roots and not being about the money or notoriety

I had the best wave of my life after the pipe masters final right as they were crowning Derek Ho pipe master and world champ on the beach in 1993…crystal blue cavern with a spit that hurt my face…I need another one!

That is such an achingly beautiful and moving tribute to Pipe. The colors are something I've never seen before - Erik totally surpassed himself and anyone else in capturing the spectrum. And his eye for the perfect moment in a wave and the light -- such an artist. I am so thankful to see these sights, sitting here in the mountains of NC. And of course, as always, the brilliance of John's surfing and tribute to other greats also. That moment when John came sliding down the first wall gave me chills. Great job.
