I have the forma terra evo, by and far the most confortable boot I've ever owned. I did have to make adjustments to my shifting lever and it took some getting used to but now it's not an issue.

Got my Forma Adventure tall boots this morning, ordered a size 44 (I'm a size 43), feet slipped in completely comfortably. Drove my little car to Tesco for some bits and after an hour in brand new boots my feet were completely comfy.

I bought some TCX Hero WP boots for everyday riding. Highly recommend as they shift like regular boots but offer the additional protection and water proofness. Comfortable enough to walk all day in and look casual enough I wear them at work as well. Holding up great as well. I bought some TCX Drifter boots after these Hero boots for my trail riding. And they make shifting a concentrated effort on my street ride but work just fine on my dualsport when I am standing most of the time riding trails. Regards…

I have the low version of these boots and agree with your comments about difficulty shifting. They also make riding feel cumbersome and clunky. I’m unsure weather thes e are breaking in issues or I’m just not suited to this kind of boot. I think a good work boot would be much more easy to live with.

Boots are like backpacks - the perfect one for all occasions probably doesn't exist. I also have a VStrom 650 and ride, like you, mostly on paved roads but want a boot that is comfortable for walking. Still in my hiking boots. Good job on the videos.

The shift using the boots on the Suzuki DR650 is okay. I like the fact they are not full sized boots which is not ideal for serious off roaders. And they are not waterproof as I found out this morning. Still... I like them and will continue to use them for my low speed, non-technical riding that I do, Cheers!

Totally hear you on the hiking boots.I have a pr of Danners which are very comfortable,and great for camping but found in the rain they would eventually leak when being pummeled by road splash.I am now wearing Dianese gt fulcrums which do not affect my shifting although there was a little adjustment. But they are 100% waterproof probably because they have actual goretex and not a knockoff liner like the danners have. But hiking in them No way.

I still struggle with my desire to have a good protective motorcycle boot and hikers. I wear a size 12 shoe and don't want to give up the space for 2 pairs of shoes on long rides.

Yup,same dilemma. Took a pr of sz 12 running shoes on a 2 week trip. Put them on once to walk 1.5 m to a restaurant And only because I had them.The Danners would have been fine. I enjoy your maint tips. Although I am comfortable working on things , a different perspective is always appreciated.Tunnel vision is my worst enemy.

Finding same issue with my Forma Terra ADV Evo X and I have moved my BMW F850 GSA gear up as hight as it will go. Basically I am shifting up by catching shifter on the lip sole of the boot.

Funny we own the same boot as well 😁 Long story short; the only day I suited all up but decided to skip the Formas and wear my Blunstones was the day I got sideswiped by a neighbor lady who missed her right turn but decided to try and make it anyway…😮 I know if I had been wearing the Formas my ankle would have probably been spared. Recovering for the past 3.5 months At our age that takes a bit longer than in our 20’s 😂😂

Focus on family right now. Twins are leaving for college in Fall and we'll be empty nesters. Trying to spend as much time with them as I can before then. After, I'll have lots of time for adventures.

I know it is a old video on gs550 cafe racer but was hoping if you remember what gauges you used. Only asking I'm building 1980 gs550e cafe racer and liked the gauges you used also like how they connected to mechanical cables.

I found them on ebay and I have a video on them. They can also be purchased at dime city cycle, but you'll pay more there. Same gauges. Be sure to watch the video on wiring the turn signals with those gauges. They have a single turn light and thus the bike needs a tiny mod to make it work. Easy though. Thanks for watching!

How many mpg do you get on your v strom 1000 ?

Since adding the Power Commander and richening the mix a little, around 35-39 mpg, depending on how spirited my riding is. Many of my rides in the desert near here take me into strong winds and I have a tall windscreen so that doesn't help. I hear the 650s are much better on gas and still have 75% of the power
