Here's a brief video analyzing the door sealing design and strategy of the Audi A4 (B9-Generation). This video is also applicable for the door sealing design on various other Volkswagen and Audi Group products, as the majority of their best practices are shared in order to maximize sealing performance and customer satisfaction. Lexus also makes very quiet and comfortable cars similar to Audi. I would say Audi is more consistent on making quiet cars for each vehicle segment they sell in, whereas some Lexus’, like the CT200h, NX, and IS, and LX aren’t as quiet as their German rivals. But the Lexus ES, LS, and RX are extremely quiet and on par with Audi, BMW, and Mercedes vehicles they compete with. In general, Lexus vehicles will have a softer ride compared to German competitors, whereas the German cars are known for their planted feel at high speeds that usually comes from a slightly firmer suspension.
