As Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stirs up false claims of voter fraud ahead of Election Day, we look at the role of an increasingly "partisan" Federal Election Commission with former FEC general counsel Larry Noble, who explains why "voters of a lot of wealth have the ability to influence elections the way that the rest of us don't." As the influence of money in politics grows unchecked, he warns, it has the effect of "silencing the voter." Noble also responds to multibillionaire Trump supporter Elon Musk's $1 million giveaways to Pennsylvania voters and discusses the lasting impact of the Supreme Court's 2010 Citizens United decision on campaign finance law.

Exactly - and in a absurdist, doublspeak way. Musk's lawyer admits it's not a fair, random lottery and thus the judge rules that means there's nothing illegal since it isn't a lottery. Of course people who signed the petition can perhaps sue Musk (even thought they are most likely part of the Musk/Trump cult and won't) but what will they get? A class action lawsuit that IF the plaintiffs win, the lawyers get all the money and the individual plaintiffs will get a check for maybe $20.

​@@FischerNilsA They just disclosed it wasn't a random lottery - the people were chosen and they knew who the people were - and it had nothing to do with signing the petition - it was all show. They used the "lottery" to dupe people who had no chance of winning the lottery into signing the petition. Musk-mob knew who they were going to be choosing from people they knew and they knew would sign the petition anyway. (how much those people get paid is a different, basically irrelevant question). Judge tossed it because there wasn't any lottery to be an illegal lottery.
