That’s all it takes, working hard and working smart. We live in a country where you are free to make something of yourself. It’s about the journey my friend. Live with no regrets.

Why wouldn't someone finish weak if they are burned out. The question is how to maintain one's energy level. Very few people talk about such strategies. I would like to see such strategies discussed here. Otherwise, despite my best intentions and mantra for excellence, I will collapse.

Best strategy imo is taking account of every variable. I think about how long it takes me to tie my shoe laces, how fast I can reach my contacts on my glovebox. Every little real life task. It helps me remain focused. Avoid burnout by making a list of things you enjoy doing then do as much as possible during the weekends. Honestly I don't know how to cure catatonic depression(main cause of a burnout imo). I tried different methods like going to the gym, showering, cleaning. But none of those really cure it. I guess the best you can do is vary it. If I think I'm going into that burnout realm I start also doing totally different and weird things. I'll sometimes not sleep at home but rather go to my car and sleep in there(I can buy a lot of time like that and get ahead, your competition isn't gonna do that. So I try to find these little sacrifices that really doesn't bother me but other human beings can't live without for some reason).

You cant just say that. It implies that there is always someone better for your team and that dude who lagged behind is disposable. Look individuals are very different. There are people who don't need motivation and there are people who needs to be babied with motivation. Who knows that dude who needs to be babied with motivation can reach 200% of his potential and the dude who doesn't need to be babied reaches 110% but you misinterpret that and try to baby him to push even more to 200% but actually he goes backwards as he starts to think his motivation isn't his own. I'm not saying there are 2 types of people. There are hundreds of different combinations of that. This guy is just painting everyone with one broad stroke.

I think whiplash portrays it best(I wasn't even thinking about the movie when I wrote this, I was just trying to think of an example n came up with this). Neman needed to babied with motivation in form of really harsh teaching methods. Those other guys reached 110% Neman reached the god level.
