Where do people think they’re going, If they’re not going to heaven. I’m completely confused about all of this and actually a little saddened by the remarks.

@naicee2978 a lot of ppl do not believe in heaven. There are ppl that believe we don't have souls that continue on. There are ppl that believe our energy continues on but not in the form of a soul and stays here on earth. And a lot of ppl believe we only have this one life and we truly die and our bodies just go into the ground and there is no afterlife. It's OK not to understand others beliefs. Respecting them is the important thing. People need to focus on living a good life that they can be proud of and if heaven is the afterlife, they should go there regardless of beliefs as long as they were a good human being.

Also, I'm glad that you guys mentioned about the huge nunber of civilian deaths, particularly in Iraq and Afghanistan. Could you imagine if this is how they treated their own soldier, what they have done with innocent civilians there? The soldier who died alongside Pat didn't even get a passing reference or acknowledgement from the government. His family was destroyed, too.

"Money wasn't a motivator for Pat" It's important to keep in mind that he also grew up with money to begin with. So it makes sense money won't move him very much as no matter what...his family always had it. Through it all Pat stayed humble, and very progressive for the time/ his young age. Speaks to his character and upbringing I must say❤️👏 RIP.

A guy who came by my work and saw I had 3 sons told me please never let them join the service. He told me he lost both of his sons in Iraq and that the whole war wasn't what we were told it was. It's really hard to know your own government is killing your people for their own personal greed. It is no longer about our freedoms it is all about their agenda.

I didn’t realize how close to home this would hit. My dad did 20 years in the Air Force. Fort Lewis (now JBLM Joint Base Lewis-McChord) was our home for a long time! My dad did multiple tours during the Iraqi war during Obamas time in office. Obama was sworn in and not a full 10 minutes later my dad got his assignment as they started work towards ending it. He was in Afghanistan and Baghdad during my childhood. He was the same way, it changed his life. The things he saw he quickly realized that “this is a job” this is no longer “Doing the right thing” He struggled with this a lot over there and it still follows him today.

And I know the American troops that were in Iraq suffered as well. They knew the invasion of Iraq was unfair, but had no choice but to follow orders. All due to the greed and cruelness of the people that control us. Contrary to popular belief amongst some people, the people of Iraq are so kind and so generous they are such hospitable people that just want peace. Anyway may Pat rest in peace 🙏

This is really an inexcusable incident - even if you thought it was taliban, they should have proper information and not just start shooting out of fear... that's not something well-trained Rangers do. What if that guy helping them HAD been a Taliban? What if Pat had been a hostage? What if they killed a hostage? This whole thing is bs. No one should have reacted out of fear and started blind firing. This was an avoidable accident.

Pat was straight up murdered through three headshots from 3 meters away in broad daylight in an organized hit. This was to keep him from being able to meet Noam Chomsky and speaking out about how the war in Iraq was purely for oil, and that the real country behind the 9/11 attack was Saudi Arabia.. but they couldn't target them because they're an ally in the region.

My boyfriend lost his best friend due to negligence in the US Army. Not by friendly fire but by them neglecting his mental health to meet quotas and have a body in combat. The US military is a clusterfuck and extremely corrupt. Its extremely sad to hear about Pat and I feel so extremely sad for his family knowing it couldve been prevented or even getting some closure with the Army just being HONEST.

Thank you for covering this story. I went to asu and was born and raised in Arizona. My parents always did the pat tillman run every year but I never understood who? The first quote that you guys mention he wrote when he was 16 was remarkable, and I sat there an analyzed it for an hour. I have very similar if not the same beliefs as him and I was always questioned for it even though my parents have the same beliefs as him as well (I grew up near the largest Mormon temple). My brother is thinking about enlisting in army and I’m goi g to send him this so it hopefully changes his mind.

A friend from high school went off to serve in the military and ended up being killed in a fox hole during training… I didn’t think anything of it at the time but as I got older I started to question how that happens and it happens so often. I know it’s different in comparison to this case but dear lord. These brave men and women are trying to serve our country to keep us safe, not get killed by other Americans that are in the military.

As an AZ native born and raised I went through school learning that he died a hero.... IMO anyone who is serving in the military with good intentions is a hero. I was gonna comment with the statue info but I knew y'all would mention it but I used to work at Westgate which is literally in the same parking lot and I would pass by it everyday and salute him but I didn't know his back story but now I feel more connected with him and his family because my 2 cousins enlisted after 9/11 and they were sent to Afghanistan out of Basic training and a Humvee in front of theirs were destroyed on their way home. Thank goodness they survived and the emotions my family went through through all of that, I can't imagine what his family went through and his family are just so amazing and strong with keeping his wishes, they're all amazing human beings

Full credit to his dad and his brother for flat out saying ‘fuck you guys’ to the US Gov. and Military. The US military industrial complex is beyond fucked.
