I’m going to say this because it NEEDS to be put out there. Christopher Duntsch KNEW what he was doing. He botched those operations ON PURPOSE. One surgeon who looked at one of his maimed patients testified that if he did a surgery THAT BADLY then at one point he knew how to do it the right way. He even admitted to an ex girlfriend that he wanted to hurt people. This was no accident or a case of lack of skill.

Duntsch is not the real villain of this story. The real villains are the program that "trained" and reommended him as a surgeon, and the facilities that gave him facilities and then let him move on to other, unsuspecting institutions WHEN THEY KNEW WHAT HIS INCOMPETENCE WAS HAD ALREADY DONE TO PATIENTS.
@adelepattonxxx4 ай бұрын
I agree. I try to be really open minded and look at different perspectives. The HOW is as problematic as the WHY. In the television series, I even felt some compassion for Duntsch, NOT nearly as much as the victims OBVIOUSLY! But this story leaves so many questions unanswered.

My mom had malpractice issues with at least 2 different doctors. She lost her leg from one doctor and lost some of her eye sight from the other doctor. Horrible. They acted like it wasn't even an issue... the doctor just said, "Sorry". She almost lost her other leg (the only one left) until I wouldn't take that for an answer and got about 5 different opinions. Finally the 5th doctor said he would be able to save the leg and not operate.

The sad thing is as mind-blowing as this case is, there are still doctors out there who think they're GOD and happily practicing out there thinking everything they're doing is correct. Wish their egos wouldn't get the best of them as soon as they earn that license. Everyone makes mistakes, it's their job to know when you ask for help- consult other physicians, look into the research to better their practice, and show respect to the other healthcare staff that are there to collectively work together to better the lives of these patients.

We’re playing Monday morning quarterback. Christopher Duntsch had his medical license revoked and he will be in prison until at least 76 yrs old so he will never practice again. We need to be wary of the doctors who are currently practicing medicine that are just like Duntsch. We need to catch the Duntsch’s out there who are early in their surgery career and not let them get to 38 surgeries. There are always red flags. It’s important for patients to go public especially if the hospital 🏥 isn’t doing anything.

You’re in “doctors empires” when you’re at the hospital. A lot of them are egotistical and superior than everyone else. Obviously if this is the case, find a nee doctor but unfortunately a lot of the time, patients stay with Dr her/him because of that very reason they think their the “best” extremely confident.. The best sign of a good doctor no matter what his skill levels are. Is his bed side manner, how concerned and abs nurturing to a patient and towards there family/friends. A doctor that is patient, humble, wants to answer all your questions.. obviously… but you’d be shocked. I cry for these patients that were affected by MR. Death dunsch. I pray that their pain subsides and they can enjoy the rest of their life pain free. L
