Yeah, as a protestant, I've heard repetition is a bad thing. But as a degreed Bible guy, I think I see pretty easily and pretty quickly that "vain" is the issue in the "vain repetition" statement by Jesus. The angels in Isaiah cry "Holy holy holy is the Lord God Almight" on repeat... like, real repeat. So, that which is in vain or is a matter of vanity in religious practice? That's the issue. Oh, and I'm discovering that praying the Rosary is indeed a strong spiritual weapon.

The rosary is no more repetitive than the Bible . The rosary is an ancient Bible of the gospel of Christ. An ancient Bible cost fifteen to forty thousand dollars . Beads are an ancient manner to remember ....just like you don't remember every page of the Bible.

When the Israelites carried the Ark of the Covenant before them into battle they never lost. In the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, one of the beautiful names she is called is Ark of the Covenant. Yes, the Rosary is the weapon of the Ark of the Covenant. If we use it, Satan will be defeated.

@Marceline Asobo No doubt, you base what you say on Mathew 6:6. There Jesus is telling us how we should pray to God but does not mention anything about praying to Mary. Who is Mary? Is she not she whom the Angel Gabriel told that she would bear a son, who would inherit the throne of his father David, therefore making him a king? That she was to call him Jesus or rather Yeshua which means "he saves" or "salvation"? Was Jesus a Jew? Did he obey the commandments? The first of the commandments that deals with purely human relationships says, "Thou shalt honour thy father and thy mother". In fact, the Hebrew word translated as honour in English could more correctly be translated as glorify. Does Jesus want us to behave and act as He did? I n Luke 1:47 Mary says in reply to Elizabeth, " My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour; because he has looked upon the humiliation of his servant. Yes, from now onwards all generations will call me blessed, for the Almighty has done great things for me." If Jesus is king, Mary is queen. In Hebrew society, as in others in the Middle East at that time, the king's wife was not the queen. It was his mother. Most kings of that time had many wives as had Solomon. He had 700 wives and concubines! Which one would he choose? Which one could he trust to look after the kingdom when he was away on matters of state? He could always trust his mother to have his back. In 1 Kings 2: Adonijah, Solomon's brother asks Bathsheba, "'Please ask King Solomon -- for he will not refuse you -- to give me Abishag of Shunem in marriage.' 'Very well,' Bathsheba replied, 'I shall speak to the king about you.' So Bathsheba went to King Solomon to speak to him about Adonijah; the king got up to meet her and bowed before her; he then sat down on his throne; a seat was brought for the king's mother, and she sat down on his right (the queen's place)." Bathsheba acted as intercessor with Solomon. Should we not ask Mary to act as intercessor with Jesus? Mary is a creature, she is human, she is not God. She is the beloved daughter of the Father, mother of the Son and spouse of the Holy Spirit.There is no other creature so privileged. We do not adore her. It is a grave sin to adore her, it is idolatry but we speak to her as a member of the communion of saints. Speaking to someone, or praying is not to be confused with adoration. Is my writing to you idolatry. If I spoke to you, would that be Idolatry? If I begged you for bread, would that be idolatry? If I asked you to pray for me to the Lord our God, would that be idolatry? No, no no and no. Neither is asking Mary to ask Jesus for something idolatry. Let us honour her as Jesus does. Vivat Christus Rex

@Marceline Asobo -have you ever heard the words of the "Hail Mary"? The first half of the prayer is almost a direct lift from the Gospel of Luke chapter 1 "Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus" Then the second half of the prayer is a request to Mary, the mother of Jesus, "Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen" So that prayer is repeated as we contemplate different aspects of the life and death of our saviour, Jesus Christ in the following ways For example, he Joyful events of his life - the Annunciation to Mary of her coming motherhood of Jesus - the visitation by Mary to her cousin Elizabeth - the birth of Jesus - Jesus presentation in the synagogue - Jesus being found in the Temple So as we pray the Rosary we are thinking about Jesus life and asking Mary to put our prayers before God. What we are not doing is praying to Mary. God bless you Marceline

Keith, thank you so much. Your speech is really inspiring. I've been praying rosary for some time and I say that too, it's life changing. What we meditate is what Archangel Gabriel says, then we say what both Gabriel and St. Elisabeth says, then Elisabeth alone. So the prayer starts with heavenly words, mixes angel's words with human words, ends with the holy Name of Jesus. Next we just beg Mary to pray for us and entrust the moment of our death to her. She has given birth of our Lord, the Fruit of her womb, she will like give us a new birth into eternal life. She's powerful enough to do it - since she's full of Grace. God bless you!

@@t.b.1596 hehe. As we meditate upon the Mysteries on the Rosary, we also do meditate upon the Bible itself actually. Every Mystery is Scriptural. Meditating upon the Scriptures and praying at the same time, wouldn't you want that?
@t.b.1596
@t.b.1596 2 жыл бұрын
@@tradcatholicloyaltorome727 Thank you for your reply. Ya know, I grew up Catholic and my past family came over from Sicily/Italy through Ellis Island and they were all Catholic. I went to Catholic School, Catechism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and Lots and Lots of Mass and confessionals. I even thought I would become a Nun in my younger days. I also had many rosaries even one that glowed in the dark!. I would drive the Priests crazy by asking questions and I never got an answer that satisfied me. I left the church to my families dismay and started to go to a Bible study group and boy did my eyes open. So this is what I have to say about what you have written. You do not have to have a religion to have a relationship with God the Father, His Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit. The Catholic Church has put a lot of emphasis on Virgin Mary and that is not Biblical. Hail Mary full of grace is wrong. The only one who we should praise is the Trinity. Mary was a human chosen by God to birth Jesus our Savior. God has a very special plan for each of our lives when he created us in our Mothers womb, Psalms 139. The problem I have with the rosary is the prayers directed to Mary. In God's Throne room, Jesus sits at the right side of God Hebrews 4:16. When we go into the Throne room of God in prayer according to the Bible we say, Father, In Jesus name I come before you and I confess my sins and ask you through Jesus to forgive me of my sins. If we have a need we talk to the Lord about our need and place them before the Father in Jesus name, because though Jesus dying on the cross for our sins we can talk to God. Jesus is our advocate...if you will our attorney who pleads our case before God. Mary and along with all the St Christopher, etc. has never and will never be seated in the throne room where God is. The spiritual law of God was set before the Heavens were created. There are no mysteries about the rosary because it was part of a man made religion. It doesn't hold any value in the Kingdom of God because it is not in the Bible. Memorizing and Meditating on the Word of God is excellent for our Spirit and helps us have confidence in our walk of the Lord. Praising the Lord is a love language we share to the Lord to bless him. You can challenge me on this but you have to show me in the Bible where the rosary exists and then I will take a look, but if you start saying Hail Mary, this is not in the word of God, Bible. One more thing that to me changed my life...even though I dedicated my life to the Catholic church...I never had a personal relationship of the Lord, it was all traditonal based on what I was taught. I was never taught to be born again, 2 Corintians 5:17. I asked Jesus into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior, I confessed my sins and asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins, I live for Jesus. Please understand how important it is to read the Bible and memorize the scriptures and have a relationship with Jesus! P.S. The Catholic Church should take Jesus off the cross, they need to share the Good New that He has risen! Bless you on your Journey...

“The Bible on Beads” - commemorating fifteen mysteries of the life of Jesus. Praying the rosary is praying the bible. The main prayers come right from scripture. The Our Father comes right from the mouth of Jesus as recorded in gospel of Matthew. Two of the three lines of the Hail Mary come right from St Luke's gospel. Praying the rosary is praying the bible. For daily meditative and contemplative prayer the rosary is impossible to beat. Fr. Donald Calloway’s book The Champions of the Rosary is a must reed.

Your testimony is wonderful - just BECAUSE you come from a Protestant background, and you've come to appreciate the Rosary more than many Catholics do! There IS a danger that the recitation of the Rosary can become mechanic, robotic, and that's where we have to be careful. So I think it's important to invoke the Holy Spirit to guide us.... Thanks for the testimony, you help all of us!

Keith, I love following your growth in the faith. I love the way you are so open which is allowing you to grow at a million miles per hour. Here’s a tip...a big tip. My wife and I are in our seventies and have been Catholics all our lives but in the last four years we discovered something that accelerated our love for Jesus and Mary like nothing before. It’s Consecration to Jesus through Mary as taught by St Louis de Montfort. This has been a game changer for us. St Louis said that Consecration to Jesus through Mary was the “quickest, easiest and surest way to Holiness”. Being an extremely lazy person, I was attracted to the idea of “quick and easy”. We found it to be true. It’s easy because Mary does the work...she brings you to Holiness. I’m not Holy yet but am a lot better than I was. 😀 I’d reccomend a book called “Totus Tuus” by Fr. Brian McMaster which leads you through the 33 day Consecration to Mary. My wife and I do the Consecration several times a year....each time Our Lady lifts us onto the next step up the Holiness staircase.

Keith Nester I’m excited for you too Keith....we use that book too...kind of alternate them. Totus Tuus is based on the teachings of John PAUL 2. There has not been a single catholic saint that did not have a strong 💪 devotion to Mary. She is THE saint maker. 😀

You and your wife are so very lucky to share your faith with each other and practise it together with such devotion. My late husband was of the opinion that if there was a God he had washed his hands of us and left us to our wicked ways. Yet he was the kindest, most generous person I have ever known and everyone loved him. Shortly after he passed away I joined a RCIA course and entered the Church at Easter the following year. My faith is the most important part of my life now.

True, my own testimony of a few years ago after being on the wrong path for most of my life, when everything was gone, I personally was broken, saying the rosary got me a message in my heart ‘Son make her whole again’ that was in 2013, things picked up slowly, and I went to Protestant churches, stopped the rosary for fear of praying to the dead but came back to the faith slowly and surely wounded more than before.. today the recovery is ongoing and I picked up my rosary again. For us to be formed closer and closer to Christ.. the best way is the rosary. The revelation of each mystery gets clearer and clearer each day you focus and speak the Our Father and the Hail Mary slowly..

The Holy Rosary is but a celebration of the life of Jesus. Mary's role is that of a mother of Jesus & spiritual wife of the Holy Spirit through which she stays the hand of God against human kind. We are at a time in history where our actions are worse than in the time of Saddam and Gomorrah. Mary stays the hand of God against us by showing there are still the faithful throughout the world. She advocates for us her spiritual children to give us time to educate ourselves & turn away from sin. She spreads the message of Good News; the Gospel urging us to be Apostolic & pic up our weapons, ie. The Bible & read & learn scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church which educates us as to what Catholics believe & last but not least, the Rosary that takes us on a Scriptural Biblical Journey of the life of her only son, Jesus Christ. We must all confess & repent, read the Bible while praying for wisdom & discernment. If we truly seek to know & understand the words & passages in the Bible. Mary is a reminder to proceed humbly & prayerfully seeking to give true witness to the words of her son Jesus Christ. We worship Jesus, but honor Mary not only as the Mother of our savior, but because she only seeks for us to humbly submit & understand the words of her son Jesus Christ. God bless you my sister on your faith journey. Welcome home!🤗✌🙏

"it has been life changing" For my Lenten journey which started on Ash Wednesday, I gave up alcohol, focused every day on the three pillars of Lent, hiked eight miles with spouse to a Catholic Shrine, and started praying the Rosary -- lately with soft Gregorian Chants music in the background. Immediately, I noticed that it was a shield against temptations, my patience and tolerance increased, and finally, every time I see a window to exercise charity, I jump on it fully knowing that these windows come and go fast.

I think what is missing from this Keith is explaining what a “Mystery” is. People watching this who have no idea about the Rosary would not understand that every Mystery is direct from scripture or the Magisterium and is event in Jesus’ life together with Mary and are Dogmas of the Church! When I was converting from agnosticism/atheism I was stunned to realize how highly scriptural and rooted in the Gospel the Rosary is and is a meditation on the life of Christ and his mother. One of my favorite ways to pray the Rosary is the little book “The Scriptural Rosary” which has a line from scripture for every single Rosary bead which develops the Mystery that is being prayed. It’s very powerful when one leader says aloud each scripture verse while others respond if you are in a group, because you can stay deep in prayer while listening to the Word of God. I appreciate everything you do and love that you and your family were led to start the a Rosary Crew. May God continue to bless you all and keep you safe.

Keith Nester, I'm a cradle Catholic and my head still spins with all the devotions, so I know exactly what you mean. The thing, is the Catholic Church has it all and as such has something for everyone. There are some of our brothers and sisters that do well with the devotions. The Rosary is different, it is tantamount to the Our Father and it was requested by Our Blessed Mother and like you said it is more than a devotion, it is a weapon. Thank you so much for your talks.

Amen!! You aren't going to believe this but the first time I prayed to the blessed Virgin Mary asking for help with my life I then went into the living room and turned on my TV youtube and gabiafterhouse started playing ... (I had never seen him before ever looked him up on youtube...thank you BVM) he was talking about how saying the full Rosary will change your life...I did it the whole Rosary all four Mysteries in one sitting ...all I can say is for the first time in my life, I felt completely and utterly spiritually fulfilled. Now I say the Rosary every day...usually before falling asleep and if I wake up in the middle of night...it is the life of Christ. amen...its adoration...it took a while but I finally found the rhythm and its there...Like you Mary is a very different presence that Jesus. And she answers prayers differently. for me she answers them immediately if not sooner...like a Mother who sees her child suffering. and its not about her...its about Jesus. I was in Mass Sunday and I took out my Rosary for the first time in church and it felt so beautiful. Its the presence.

Keith, the Rosary is a weapon for mankind against evil. There are many devotional prayers. The prayer I recite almost everyday is, "The Chaplet of Divine Mercy." It is taken from the diary of St. Faustina when she met with the Lord Jesus, physically! I highly request that you look in to to St. Faustina's life and her devotion to Jesus. It changed my life! I'm more spiritually connected to Jesus having a very intimate relationship with him as he desires from all of us. At the same time, I got my act together from the messages he gave to her and instructed her those messages to mankind. Please, I ask that you know St. Faustina Kowalska and her life with the messages she was instructed to preserve and tell all mankind. It blew me away to the point that it was a warning and a devotion. God Bless you!

This is amazing! As a born again Christian I sometimes found it really hard to pray so I would try and pray in tongues but only a handful of times I could feel the Holy Spirit actually taking over so I tried to do it by faith but it wasn’t easy. At other times I just felt dry and sometimes this dryness would go on for days and a couple of times it went on for weeks. Actually I’ve just come out of a hard period of dryness in prayer and I attribute that solely to the Rosary . Two weeks ago I came across a video on the Rosary and decided to follow it. I’ve got three rosaries at home that have been given to me and as a “non-catholic” I’ve never used. I can honestly say that it has changed my attitude to prayer. I no longer dread having to go on my knees for fear of not being able to pray. And the more I find out about the miraculous power of the Rosary the more I want to do it. Like you, I try to mean every single word I say although I confess sometimes I get lost in the repetition. It has also made me want to find out about Mary and now I believe in her and want to love her the way Jesus does.

I was reminded recently again about the origin of the Lord's prayer, the Hail Mary and the Glory be. We did not invent these prayers. Think about it. We would not have known the Lord's prayer had the Lord Jesus not taught us. We would not have known the Hail Mary had the Holy Spirit not inspired the Angel Gabriel, Elizabeth and Mama Mary to say those words. Or course there are times when anxiety, fatigue etc will ... However, each time I say the words of the rosary, it's not just my efforts that the Lord wants but that I be peaceful and maybe contented that I'm doing my part already by joining The Lord Jesus, The Angel.. by allowing the Holy Spirit speak through me as I say those sacred words. I bet most times, no one feels the Holy Spirit when they say "Jesus is Lord" (1Cor12 :3), still its by His grace. So yep, maybe also try to listen to the words as you speak them and be peaceful/joyful/grateful for though we hear what sounds like our voice, it's actually the Holy Spirit doing it. In praying the rosary, I try recall that I'm safe like a small child, surrounded by the older members of a heavenly family, bigger & More loving than I can fully imagine.

As for the Glory be, it reminds me of a God Almighty Who already knows my worries better, keeps them in mind even when I forget and by Who's grace I recalled that I had to bring these in prayers. The Lord God is already taking care of everything and so Of course I should pray, but I must trust more, be grateful more like a baby and be peaceful in heart. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit will always win "As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be"
